Question about saved data on PS3

I know this is going to sound like a dumb question but since i never had it happen before i want to make sure about it. I have beaten Uncharted 100% and have all the data saved, however my Uncharted disc is a little scratched up a bit and has frozen a couple times recently. I was going to get another copy because i love the game. My question is will my saved data be able to connect with the new copy, or is their a connection within the system that the saved data only works with the copy it was achieved on. I know this question may sound crazy but i just want to be 100% sure before i spend more money on another copy. thanks

you know there are places that can buff or polish a disc to look and work almost like new right???i know most pawn shopds around here will do it for like 5 bucks. also i have another great idea for you. take care of your games. sheesh i got like 23 ps3 games and not one is scratched or even has and finger prints for that matter. same goes for my movies and well any other discs i have.
