when you first open your psp, do you first charge it? or wear down the battery then get a full charge from 0 to 100%??

err well lets see if i can remember back 3 years ago. To be honest i remember just turning it on and plugging the charger in, i didn't even wait for a 100 percent charge. I definately did not drain the batter down to 0, idk if your supposed to or not, but my psp battery still works great after a few years.

Charge it. Try not to let it get to zero percent as its lithium ion. They prefer to stay charged and leaving it low often will take away from its life.

The best thing is to charge it and purchase a new battery with a much longer lifespan. I recently purchased a battery (I am not certain about the size but it is the biggest one out there) for only 20-30 dollars. The lifespan of the new battery is much longer than the one you received from the package. The original battery can last you maybe 3-4 hours while the bigger battery can last maybe 8-10 hours. Therefore, it is really worthwhile.

It's important to fully charged it 1st so that the battery will last longer the next time you recharge.
