Hi, i plan on getting a ps3 but was gonna wait till more games come out when i came accross a thread about the emotions engineand BC. i was just wondering if the US systems have also been updated like the EU systems, since i knowthe EU systemsdont have a emotions engine and just want to know if they plan to do that to the US systems too. if so is there any way to check if the system is the one with emotions engine, like the serial code in the back or something to see which model it is thats IF the US systems have been updated too tho, since i want to be able to play most of my ps1/ps2 games. Thanks for any info.

I want a PS3, but how do I get Blu-Ray removed and $200 taken off the price tag :D

I guess I'll have to get one when MGS4 comes out...

It costs Sony about $25 a system to leave it in. Only makes sense they will remove them when or just before the price drop comes.

mine is a U.S launch system and the model number is CECHA01, so its safe to say all with this model # have the emotion engine.

I would buy one now just to have a better chance of getting the EE chip now. There is another rumor that if and when they take the EE chip out they will be using a emulator. I have the system now and found that the chip does a great job with the PS2 titles so far.

Most PS3s use emulation already, and there re no issues with that. All systems even those with the EE will goto emulation so it makes no difference.

360 has to use emulator software to run the old xbox games and because of that there is tons of slow down like when playing halo 1 or 2 on the 360.

I'd say to get the emotions engine ps3's before they stop making them with it.
