I was told from my brother that the PS3 is being redone and that it is not going to be backwards compatible anymore by the end of the year. is this true? and if so can you give me a link of the story please?

Completely untrue, SCEA is working on the compatibility with ps1 and ps2 format software, as of 1.7, i think 73% of all ps2 games are compatible with PS3 hardware, and some PS3 have the PS1 and PS2 chipset that serve as the emulator.

the ps3 is one of the best done system yet. compatibility is still an issue but still very workable (unlike the box with you know x). regular updates are done to add more functionailty and capability. PS3 may still be young, but it will grow bigger than its predeccesor because of its longetivity. 10 years anyone?

in Europe the Ps3 is 73% compatible with PS2 and PS1 games. In america, its 100% compatible. they have no plans to redo it so it won't be bc.

Aren't rumors fun?  I heard the PS3 was going to start shipping with a pair of straps, and when it heats up enough, you'll be able to fly around the neighborhood with it strapped to your back.
I can't wait!  Screw Home I want to fly!
