Question about the new Official PS3 headset.

The earhook thing looks flimsy when I look at the picture online.

Has anyone had a bad experience with this problem?

Because the older ps3 headset earhook looks like it has a sturdier built to it.

Is the older one better in terms of built quality or the opposite?
