I have been watching the videos and news for the newest adventure for the series as it looks awesome so I haven't ever played a game to this series but did play the demo to Uncharted: Drake's Fortune from the Playstation Store so I'm wondering if I should get the first game then the second game to better understand the series or could I just get the third game and be alright?.

You'd enjoy it more if you played them all in order, they're all good games.

You should play them all in order if you can, they're great.

You should have bought Uncharted: Dual Pack from Best Buy last week as it was just $24.99. Uncharted 2 is epic and is better than part 1. You should go get the Uncharted: Dual Pack and play those games before you play Uncharted 3.

The first and second games are definitely worth playing and will give you a good idea if you actually do want to get the 3rd.

^ Here is the best answer and the Dual Pack is such a great idea before the release of the third entry into the series. For $24.99 you get two excellent titles (and I agree: Uncharted 2 is E P I C. The beginning alone is worth the price of admission).

You won't need to play them in order to understand. Each game is its own story. The series isn't one continuous story like Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed. You may have more attatchment to the characters though. And they're good games.

I didn't like the 1st game, but the 2nd one is pretty great. I think there's a box set of the 1st and 2nd game so I'd go for that, as it's definitely worth playing at least the 2nd one before the 3rd.

I am a huge fan of the series. I mean, it would all depend on the games you like though.
