Sorry if this has been asked before but I really didn't know what to search for.

My question is, is there a way to stream both audio from HDMI and the red and white (RCA) cables from my PS3. I only see the audio output that lets you choose one or the other but I wanted to do both?

I guess I should explain my reasons. Well I have a surround sound set up and while I play games or watch movies most of the time I will have the audio set up on surround sound, but not all the time. Sometimes I like just having the audio come from my TV and only the TV. So is there anyway to set up both cables without having to go through the audio settings on the PS3?

I don't think you can use HDMI cable and PS video/audio cable(red, white, yellow) at the same time, cos once you plug in HDMI cable console prompts message-do you want to set as HDMI output or something like that.I was wondering about using both cables cos i don't like being restricted to letterbox view of Blu ray movies when using HDMI cable.Cant see the point in having good size HD tv+yet can only use small part of screen for movie playback.

No you can only output audio via 1 set of cables ...

just leave your sound system on ...
