Question on earphones, need help.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a Bluetooth or USB earphone for my PS3 but I need some clarification first before I start shoping. My question is that even though I know you can use it for chatting but can you use it for other stuff like a stereo headphone to hear stereo music or playing a game quietly by myself on the PS3? Or is it only used for chatting and a mono headphone is better than waisting extra $ on a stereo one. Thank you in advance.

you can buy Stereo BT headsets but i think they are only for communication
