I have Resistance and beat it on normal and am almost through it on hard.  Then one of my friends came over and we wanted to play games like capture the flag together (offline).

We set it up but there are no computer controlled characters.  If you remember games like Red Faction and Killzone--they had multiplayer where you, a friend, 4 other computer controled characters would go against 6 other computer controled characters.  Is this possible to do in Resistance.  I saw no way, but maybe I missed something.

Thanks guys.

As far as I know the only offline multiplayer is the co-op mode. Maybe one day they'll give you a downloadable ad on or something but that's the way it is for now and it's the way the developer felt the game should ship.

If you go to multiplayer there is a section that you can select for offline.  Then you can select location, objective (ie capture the flag), weapons, etc.  Then a screen pops up for players 1-4 to hit triangle to join the game.

Each location has a marker beside it indicating how many players can fill that level (ie some say 32p some say 40p).  Once you start the mission there is no one but me and my friend.  I thought maybe the other 30 or 38 players would have been computer controlled, but they were not--no one was there but the two of us.  I am wondering if there is someway to do this with computer controlled players.  What would the point be to play one on one?  Or better yet, two on none?

Anyone have any ideas?

No bots that I've ever seen.  I used to love bot matches in Time Splitters.

If there are no bot matches then hopefully Insomniac can make a patch with them.  I just don't see a point with having the multiplayer section offline without any bots?

If they have the mode (since I'd never seen it) I assume they felt that a small 4 man game would be enough.

if they didnt put in bots it means one of two things. Either they didn't want to or they couldn't implement it successfully. Better to be good at what you can do well than be bad at what you can't do well.
