Hello, i got a new PS3 (40GB) a few days ago and have a question. I know that PS2 games are not BC but someone told me you can play PS1 games, can anyone confirm if thats true? Also I have an EU PS3 and i also heard that the ps3 is region free. Since chrono trigger and FF anthology (FFv, FFVI) were not released in Europe, if i were to buy them and play them on my PS3, would it work? I found the US versions for really cheap and have always wanted to play these games.

The first generation of PS3's (like mine) have BC.. But to lower the price of the PS3 they took it out, so I don't think yours will play them.

I'm pretty sure all Ps3's have PS1 backwards compatibility.

All PS3 consoles have near perfect PS1 BC.
