I was going to give Sony a call back tomorrow to ask these questions but I figured I could ask you guys on the behalf of my girlfriend.
Well, her PS3 has been acting slightly weird for the past two months or so from when she traded her 360 in for a used 60GB PS3 at Gamestop. For the past five weeks or so it had been buggy with loading certain games. Today it finally took even a lower drop to stop playing her Blu-ray movies, DVDs, and some Playstation 2 games. Not entirely stop playing but when it takes several tries of restarting her console and taking out the disc, I'd say it's close to biting the dust entirely. After dealing with the standard troubleshooting with a Sony rep and paying for a Out of Warranty exchange, her order is setup to get a box her in three days or so she can send it off for a new/refurbished 60GB.
I'm sure the instructions that will be coming (Along with the instructions they said they were going toe-mail mein the next 24 hours)will tell me but what exactly will she have to send back? The console, obviously but with the HDD unit, AV cables, and power cord? If anyone has had to send their PS3 back to Sony, could you just run me through your story briefly? Thanks again, I just like to be prepared. Like a Boy Scout, cutting out the whole wildnerness andpedophiliac scout leaders part.
Also, to worried soon be PS3 owners of console issues from other platforms: Her PS3 seems like it was a launch model, it was used, and not exactly properly cared for from it's previous owner until it ended up in the hands of my girlfriend(to where she treated like it was God's invention for the wheels of mankind to run on). So no worries, be happy.
