Quick question about HDMI cables...

So, I'm about to buy a ps3 and a hdtv tomorrow, and I know that I need to get an HDMI cable. My question is, will any HDMI cable do, or do I need to get the official ps3 one. And if I can use any one, do you have any recomendations on what brand to get?

yes any one will do. don't be fooled by the prices.

personally i only got the sony ones because thats all they had at the store near me. but hdmi cables are hdmi cables. don't pay more than 20 dollars for them.

buy 3 or 4 from monoprice dot com (not sure if you can hot-link). one for your ps3, 360, DVR cable box, dvd player (assuming you don't use your console to play them), one for your receiver (if it accepts hdmi). you get the idea. buy them now before your tv gets here so you're ready to go when you bring it home.

you can get a 6ft cable for $5, and they work flawlessly.

a digital signal is a digital signal. paying more money is pointless.

Don't listen to the sales reps at the stores. Those cable rip you off so much!! I bought 3 of those cables from Amazon and I have my PS3, XBox 360, and my DVD player connected with those and they work flawlessly. I've also tried Monster cables to see if there is a difference in quality, but there isn't.
