Certain Stores rip you off, like EB GAMES AND GAMESTOP!! If you want to sell a psp sell it on ebay. Only $60 for a psp at eb games.

Aren't EB and Gamestop ran by the same people? And yea...They do pay very low but it is so they can make a profit.

Yeah,I guess they have to make a profit to stay in business ;-) I think it is more the convenience of getting rid of it like that tha selling it yourself. eBay can be a pain to try and get the listing made, take pictures, etc. Plus, with all the fees they charge you probably wouldn't end up being ahead all that much anyway.

The thing that surprises me is how much they charge for used stuff. I don't know if it is just the stores near me or what, but I've noticed that they only take about $5 off used games and used systems usually only save around $10-$30. I don't know about you, but when I want a new system, a few dollars is definitely not going to be worth it. I would say that a used system would be more of a hassel than what it saves. Unless it was a huge savings, I would never consider buying used.

Its the same in the UK, some stores actually sell games for like £29.99 new and £28.99 second hand, its madness, they also rip you off for old trade in games like mega drive games for 50 pence and so forth.

EB game is a rip off because the majority of the games in there are used... and gamestop is kinda a rip off because, they charge you for used games only like few dollars cheaper than if you bought in brand new... basically its better if you just pay the normal price and get it new... that is retarded... but gamestop does have those kits, and special bundles ... that is good

I took 11 xbox games to Gamestop and they offered me $15 for 10 of them but would not take 1 (which i bought faulty from them, never worked). I said no... took them to Hastings up the street and they gave me $42 for 7 of them. So i figgured i'll take the last 4 to the other Gamestop in town and see what happens. Took them all no questions asked even the broken one for $1.75, at that point i didn't really care... i was able to afford my copy of FF12 for my new PS2.... which although has nothing to do with the topic ended up having a disc read error...curse you ebay seller!!! Anyways... screw Gamestop...

What!?!?! That's rediculous, in GAME they sell used base packs for £75($35.50) or maybe £80($40) I feel sorry for you guys, not having game for trade ins. You can trade some DS games for only £5($2.50) off there original price but some are bad like brain training is just under the original price, but still, It's way better than EB Games. And I thought Americans got everything cheap, lol, I'm wrong.

that's how stores like ebgames make 90% of their money (made that statistic up but.. ya know.. most of it anyway), they buy low and sell high. look, it works

LOL at those who say"waaa Gamestop Ripped me off" or "waaa Gamestop tried torip me off" come on people, they have to make money too. thats whyitscalled a "business". They arent forcing you to sell them your games.Hell, they probablywould rather not even have your crappy used games. If you bring a game in and they give you a price you dont like, Here's and idea for the idiots to write down: Dont make the transaction. Go somewhere else if you want to. Or make sure you will like the game before paying 60 bucks on it. simple as that

I love Gamestop/Ebgames (same store), and I go in all of the time. Yea, the whole customer service gets a little annoying from time to time, but I've learned to ignore it. Really though, most stores that sell used games HAVE to offer such a low amount to customers for trades to protect themselves against price drops, and from doing deals like buy two get one free. Not to mention, that there have been a lot of coupons online lately for even better deals in store. The objective of any business is to make money, and they aren't going to put themselves in a place that actually loses them money by giving you back most of the money you paid for your games ;) Many of those games you trade in may just sit on shelves for months or years, so they can't give you $20 for a $40 game at the time...later the price would drop to $20 and they would make no money or lose money, and that's not good business. And you'd be surpised how many people buy used systems to save $10...is really sad actually.

Yeah. £75 is somewhere near $145. I'm not sure the exact price...

And on topic Ebgames/Gamestop isn't that bad. About a month ago they gave you more for your PSP, but the prices have gone down a little...

I'd like to add this observation in regards to used games. I am from Europe, currently living in USA. Back home Gamestop rocks for variety and pricing (except the ocassional used game that costs more than a new copy). Everytime i went in there was a large collection of new games. The reason for this? Theres only 5 stores in the whole country. In the US city i am living in right now there are 3... 2 within a mile of each other. I go in there and its the same games for the same prices in each one. Oversaturation in my opinion has taken the fun out of snatching up that used game bargain.

Eb Games rips you off for trading in games but buying games is a different story. I saw Killzone at best buy for $49.99 Canadian and at Eb Games was $14,89 Canadian. Same with Crush, at best buy was $34.99 and Eb Games at $19.99 so ya some games are really cheap there.
