Did anyone see the new PS3 "this is living" video? Its on gametrailers.com. It is WEIRD and has really no gaming relevance at all but you do get to see this pretty hot girls ***. Who the hell is in charge of their marketing division?

How come I can understand them but no one else can? The "This is Living" slogan really means that when your playing a PS3, "This is Heaven" Like "When I'm playing with my PS3, I'm in heaven" type attitude.Shu76
no, trust me we all understand it, its just all very weird.Â

uuummm... I don't think it has anything to do with heaven. When I watch it, I see all these different type of gamers. You guy the crazy dude, with the gernade... that would be your hardcore gamer, like us..... you got your dude who is watching the Soccer game in his Jock strap, while beatin' it.... that's your addictive sports addicts... then you got your Chick, who is like a casual gamer... seeing the bubbles around her made me think of super-rub-a-dub. The couple, I'm still not sure who they were, but they had a lot of money... kinda like M$( I think my M$ idea is completley off.) But they are all staying at this black dudes hotel right??? I think he represents the PS3.... because it's his hotel, and people check out rooms there, kinda like HOME or just PSN all together. So that's my take on it....Â

interesting take on the commercial
Maybe thats their aim; they want people to think about the advert deeply, I dont know but in a strange way I found the advert appealing. Good work sony.
Still I love those rediculous 360 ads (people shootin each other at airport, LOL )Â
I get the idea of the commercial, I think it's just too long and convoluted. I actually liked it, it just would never make it with the average consumer.Insane00
it's targeted in europe, where all the smart people are
everyone in america is obese and doesn't like soccerÂ

I resent that. I'm 6 ft 160 lbs, love soccer (it's way more entertaining than US football, and I have played both), and I certainly wouldn't consider myself stupid, though I have no intentions of trying to prove that.
On the otherhand, I agree. The visuals, the dialogue, even the style of the hotel all are very european. Besides, most Americans are parnoid of boobies and would never allow a naked girl to show up in a commercial.

Commercials rarely have any relevance. Nothing new.Â
Supposedly the different people are supposed to represent different genres of games available in the ps3 (which is the hotel). I haven't figured out which is which, other than the creepy soccer dude being the sports side of things.osirisomeomi
read my post, maybe you'll get it.Â

The creepy soccer guy is fantazing about being a pro soccer player, just like most guys beat it while they imagine sleeping with some hot model chick, soccer guy is beating it cause imagining himself as a pro soccer player gets him off.Where can you play pro soccer? On a PS3. Where can you be a samuari? On a PS3. get it?
I thought this was one of the best advertisements I'd seen in a while (as far as effectively advertising a product):
http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-43432.aspx
PERFECT for something like the movie theatres or something.
I agree though, so far that's the only clear and coherent advert for the PS3 that I've seen out of the UK campaign.
