So I'm looking to get a Christmas gift for my brother. He's trying to get into platforming games, so I immediately thought of Rachet & Clank and Daxter. My question is essentially which is better, but I'd also like to know:

1) Which is easier for someone new to platforming?
2) Which is longer?
3) Is R&C worth like $20 more than Daxter (in Canadian prices, R&C is $50 and Daxter is $30)
4) If I could find them both used, would it be worth it to buy both? Or are they too similar?

Thanks in advance, everyone!

Daxter is a lot better than R&C. Both are fun but Daxter is just better.

I've only played Daxter, but it was really fun and really addictive. It wasn't to long of a game, maybe like 10 hours tops..it's a great choice though for a PSP.

i haven't played either of them...but RC games are hilarious and very entertaining...that's a good plus always (for me anyways) and i've loved every RC game ever...so i'd get that, probably longer too, but i'm getting both and RC has alot of cool ass weapons in it to upgrade...that should help him a bit

Daxter is actually pretty good. I never really considered buying it, however it came with the silver psp and im glad it came with it. R&C sounds like a good game though, i hear my co-workers talking about it all the time.

1) Daxter is more straight ahead platforming and has simpler controls
2) Daxter is longer
3) Daxter is worth more
4) Both are good and worth playing, Daxter is far superior imo

I am a massive R&C fan but felt quite let down by Size Matters, it just didn't feel like a ratchet game. There is less platforming and focus on new modes which really didnt appeal to me. Daxter on the other hand was amazing. A really great platformer, gorgeous graphics, great gameplay and pretty lengthy. I easily recommend Daxter.
