The developers of the Ratchet & Clank series were at it again but this time they brought more arsenal in their latest game, Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction. Over the past five games, Ratchet & Clank has grown to become one of the best games to deliver a Pixar movie experience, stated by the New York Times. Given that I own all the Ratchet & Clank games with the exception of the second game, I have truly been given the Pixar experience. From the beginning to the end, Ratchet & Clank continues to strive to get your attention. Let it be the variety of guns, the vibrant graphics, the fast passed game play, the pleasing experience or just shoving Captain Qwark's rear end on the screen (It honestly doesn't get better then a guy in spandex).

Graphics: As many have stated before Ratchet & Clank has a nag to deliver vibrant and appealing graphics. So appealing that you find you're self starring at Captain Qwark's rear end or Clanks girlfriend, Venus (Just make sure Clank doesn't see you or he may blast the Negotiator at you). All in all, the graphics are fantastic!

Gameplay: One of the most engaging aspects of Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction is its fast passed gameplay. It not only serves up to be fun but all satisfying as you don't find yourself struggling to beat the game. Even if you do struggle there's a variety of guns and widgets to help you along the way.

Innovative: What made this game so original then previous Ratchet & Clank games is that it incorporated the new Playstation 3 motion sensor technology. This included flying, hacking security circuits or dancing the pirate Jig.

Storyline: Unfortunately the storyline was not as entertaining as previous games. I guess the jokes are getting a little old. However, unlike the other games I found the storyline more sophisticated then previous games. I assume that was the reason behind the unsatisfying storyline but every game has its weaknesses.

Value: Definitely worth buying, if not for the storyline for the gameplay. Though, I suggest getting one of the previous games for a cheap price before purchasing this game. I only suggest this because you have missed out on a lot of humor, story, weapons and action that is not included in Ratchet & Clank: Future Tools of Destruction.

In the end, this game proved to be one of the best Ratchet & Clank games so far. Although it lacked aspects of previous games there was much originality applied to this game that made this game enjoyable.

IMO jak is better. Iwon't explain why because I don't want to make a long post, like I always do in all Jak related topics.

Jak is better hands down... not that I'm saying R&C is bad in anyway... I loved Tools of Destruction... just that the Jak games trump R&C in every way. Gameplay wise, Ratchet and never match the variety of Jak.. sure R&C has more guns... but Jak comes off better with blending so many different gameplay elements. Storywise too, R&C is heading now where Jak went with its second game.. a serious, more personal storyline without sacrificing on the humour... oh and finally, Jak series has Daxter! :D

They're both really great games, but i'd say the Jak series. To me, they are some of the best games ever made; great story, great gameplay, funny cutscenes etc. Ratchet is great as well, but between them, I'd say Jak.

I preffer Ratchet & Clank... I've played all of them since they came out... and loved them all.

I also played the Jak & Daxter games but I always seem to get stuck at some point in the game.

And am never able to continue past that point. So since I never get to see the ending it kinda sucks.

But i think both are amazing series ... just wish you could adjust the difficulty level in J&D.

anybody else had trouble finishing J&D games ???

the jak series is better IMO. If your looking to get into it you might be mislead by jak 1 because its very different than the other 2. But all of them are good.

They're so much better gameplay wise - you get guns instead of shooting that yellow eco crap :P and there are vehicles and racing ... they're awesome and the story never fails ... I can't wait for Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier

That being said, I like Jak and Daxter more because it's more immersive for me, I'm always eager to play further into the game. Ratchet and Clank is awesome as well, but for me, it can get boring after a long sit down of gameplay, which gives Jak and Daxter the slight edge. I must add that it was a very close call though

Rachet and Clank is better Jak and Daxter in my opinon. I just personaly like Insomniac better (Spyro the dragon got me into gaming not Crash bandicoot) on the ps3: Rachet and clank future > Uncharted: Drakes fortune > Resistance IMO
