Raiden vs Ryu PART II

Well there has been a lenghthy fight of fanboyism and stupid remarks, with supporters on each side. Both icons are tired BUT its time for round 2!!!!

Its an epic battle of Playstation vs X-BOX. The fight would last hours to days, both fighting hardcore

RAIDEN:

So, Ryu seems to have the upper hand, giving no chance for Raiden to have a breather. Raiden would be jumpy and dodgy. After a while close-quarters combat would be evenly matched, both recieving deadly slashes and blows. I think both would die of exhaustion and succumb to their wounds.

Raiden is not invincible, he can bleed to death, and can have limbs severed off, just like any other regular movie action hero.

If they did have a fight, I wouldn't stick around to watch it, it would be like some stupid Dragon Ball Z or Naruto fight where no one dies for HOURS!
Until eventually, after being slammed into a wall 300x, dropping a billion feet onto a rock floor, and had a bzillion hadoukens thrown at them, they die by something stupid like....a fly in there eye.

actually, when i complete ninja gaiden ds you see his face.

he looks like a girly man.

ryu wouldn't win because he ALWAYS makes things so difficult, plus i died more as ryu than any character in any game ever.

raiden isnt immortal .... but raiden any way cuz hes bad to the bone b-b-b--b-b-aad

gray fox cyborg ninja totally own them. custom fitted with stealth camo and can attach a raygun to his arm. plus he can deflect bullets with his sword. nough said.

Raiden's fast enough to dodge all the Gekko's and such, so he can totally win.

Im sure Ryu will agree to have a sword fight.

Gray Fox would jump down from the rafters and chop both in half with one quick swipe of his blade

I agree though, Raiden all the way, and if he ***** up the Patriots 'll drop a nuke on Ryu :).

Its hard to side with Ryu because he has no personality or real motivations; he's a 2D character made of cardboard. Where as Radien has a story behind him, he has issues and a real reason to fight.

The fact Ryu was creatated by one of the most annoying, cocky, and hated devs in the world, whilst Raiden was made my one of the most well respected, and lovable plays a part to...

yeah, plus Raiden *spoiler* stopped effing Outer Haven with one arm! that little biz Ryu would be crushed.

I know the NG series is old, but age dosnt give you a personality, it just makes thing worst; lazy devs who refuses to bulid-up their character.gekidami

Gray Fox has always been one of my favorite MGS characters. His part in the saga spans 4 games/. In 3 of them, you visit different periods of his life and different parts of his personality. He story is as multilayered as it is tragic.

Oh. The other game was the original Metal Gear in case you were wondering

This is not a good contest as Ryu Hayabusa would instantly destroy Raiden. Ryu is a master of all weapons who wields the dragon sword passed down by the dragon gods, he is a master of ninpo, able to hurl fireballs, momentarily fly, dissappear and reappear in short distances, can execute teleport throws such as the izuni-otoshi throw, and use asuka-gaeshi techniques. Raiden is just a run of the mill cyborg, very strong and has great endurance, but not much else. Raiden is impressive with his fledging skill, but Ryu has been around much longer and canonically has a better history, longer adored fan base. Raiden on the otherhand....has a history of being childish. This is an unfair fight as you are pitting an inexperienced but strong cyborg wannabe ninja against a magical legend.

Also as for Ryu not having a story, Hayabusa has a demeanor and wisdom of a man far older than himself, due to his prolific lineage and mantle of station as a respected ninja. His exploits have given him an attitude far removed from others and he understands things in more abstract and philosophical terms. None of which Raiden does or has ever done.

Its funny just how much Raiden and Null/Jaeger/Grey Fox/Cyborg Ninja overlap each other. Both child soldiers, both friends of (a) Snake, both blade users, both ninjas (before the cyborg ninja suits even!).

Hmm, Raiden blocks bullets with a sword. How many bullets has Ryu blocked, huh? Guess that would help Raiden though since Ryu doesn't use guns. Honestly, I think Gray Fox/Null/Cyborg Ninja would own both easily. He'd die heroicly afterwards, then Snake would take all the credit :P

However, Joe Musashi is a strong ninja but only uses 4 ninjutsu techniques, he is no match for Ryu, and would probably give Raiden a run for his money.

How many giant submarines has Ryu stopped one handed? And how many times does Ryu die while you play? You aren't even going by what we've seen from the characters, you've already decided. Nothing really wrong with that, its a fanboy topic afterall. Everyone's already set and just defending their choice. Although I stand by the fact that Samus would r*pe Master Chief in a fight. :P

Now the real question is if they ever put raiden and ryu in ssb, would they stand any chance against the great and mighty power of Pikachu!!!!

Wow, these are my 2 favorite game characters in recent history. Though they're pretty evenly matched in my book, Ryu can run on the surface of lava and swim in it :shock: So...

Ryu > Raiden
