rainbow 6 online is horrible

im sorry to say but the online play just sucks. i mean it as potential, but it has too many issues.

1. you have to randomly join a server. why is it that way back in socom 1, i could view a server and it showed the game types and how many people are in it, yet in a "next gen" game i just randomly join a room? the first game was decent, it was 5 on 5 after that, it was 1 or 2 other people in the room.

2. once you get in a server, the session can end at any time. i waited in a room for 8 minutes, as soon as the round was over it made me join a new game.

3. you cant cancel the load map screen. i joined a game with one other guy and he started the game, i wanted to leave but i had to wait for everything to load before i could quit. again, you could cancel the load screen way back in socom 1, but cant on a next gen system.

4. most of the mics i heard sounded horrible. it either sounded like they were rubbing the speaker part on their couch, or they were in an echoey cave.

i want to like this game, i really do but im glad that i rented it. ill keep trying to see if i can get some better matches. right now its downright silly wasting 45 minutes just trying to find a decent match

but anyway have you not played any online console shooters since socom 1? a lot of them are like this. and maybe just maybe its your mic that sucks? and also hasnt the game been out for two days? how many people do you expect to be online righ now? you are just nitpicking to find negative things about the game that you "want to like". it seems to me that you dont "want to like" this game as much as you want to find something wrong with it so that you can hate it.

1) Sure randomly joining a server isnt the greatest, but you dont need to repeat yourself like 10 times

2) If the sessions have been ending for you then you either have a bad connection or its player hosted and they left

3) There isn't too many games i know that you can cancel during load screens but honestly is that really an issue???

4) I was in a 8v8 game all last night, over half the people had mics and 1 of them had a bad one, the rest it sounded like i was on the phone

Anyhow i played online last night for like 6 hours straight and i was having a blast, im very happy that i got this game and i only played 1 gametype all night lol, but i hope it does whatever you want it to do for you sometime soon, only thing i've experienced is you need to randomly join, and the session ended once when the host left

Microsost bribes Ubisoft? Ubisoft started primarily as PC developers hence they have much experience with Direct3D. That is what is used in both PC and on the other console. They also like the tools handed to them and have said these things many times before.

Everything you say is true, not to mentionthat when it lags, it lags horribly bad. But if you're lucky enough to get a good lag free game, the game performs very well.

i agree, i love the online in this game. yeah i can see where joining random games can suck but if your that worried about it make some friends on the ps3 and join whatever game their in. I spent all day today playing online and had some great matches and met some cool people. I think the TC is just trying to nitpick this game because either A) He's a troll or B) He wants other people to hate the game as much as he does.

this is why i just read the forums here and never post. the troll comments are pure comedy. you cant have an honest critique without people calling you a troll.

2. my connection is excellent. no lag on COD3, bf2 runs fine, and so does socom 2 and 3. how can you tell if a session is player hosted?

3. it is if you have to wait forever to load the game and then cancel it out again.

4. 8vs 8? the game only supports 14 players. who's making stuff up now?

i dont have a mic, so i can hear ppl through my tv speakers. i'd say 20 percent of the mics i heard sounded great, the rest either had bad delay or tons of interference.

i played one game online and the whole game shutdown and brought me to the XMB screen.

i did find 2 sessions that had about 12 ppl in it, and that was pretty fun. unfortunately ive spent a ton of time trying to track those 2 sessions down.

hopefully this game will get packed through the weekend, if not ill save the 60 bucks

i haven't played much online since I've gotten it. Just been playing the single player but I did play online one time. It lagged horrifically but that could be due to my internet connection. It doesn't lag on any other game though so IDK.chopstx667

1) You dont really have a point, all your trying to do is bash it

2) If your connection is excellent then i guess that you have bad luck and im not sure how you tell if its player hosted but chances are it probably is, would explain your lag issues maybe, and i believe most are player hosted

3) Every game i have ever played has to load, ive never been able to cancel it but i guess socom means every game but i cant really help you here, your going to have to wait for it

4) Well then i guess it was 7v7, my mistake, but if you really want to know i can give you 3-4 peoples names to prove myself although i dont feel the need too and it shouldn't be hard to believe

You dont have to have a mic to hear people, i dont and i hear everyone, although i do believe you need to be NAT type 1 or 2, 3 can block out mics if you dont have 1..i think. Anyhow, from my experience over 50% of the mics are good quality and ive never heard or seen it shut down and go to XMB so thats got to suck. Well i hope you get better luck, less lagg, and what not but anyhow if you want to play sometime my id is Gray_Fox

I cant find ANYONE to play with in this game. I know it barely came out, but whenever i try to find a match there arent any

well after playing this game online throught the weekend, i have to admit that it is very hit or miss. when i get into a full room, it is pretty fun. the only problem is that it rarely happens.

i really dont like the open mic concept. its annoying to hear people coughing, talking on their phone, and crying to their mom because they dont want to eat dinner.

dont like the fact that the host can kick someone at a whim. i walked into 2 rooms, and before i could even select my weapons i got kicked.

why is it that if you join a respawn room in the middle of the game, you cant play that game? you have to wait until the end of the game to play. seriously annoying, if it was a single kill survival i could understand, but the whole point of respawn is to play until the game ends.

i also dont understand why my usb mic doesnt work, but thats probably my own fauly.

all in all, the online has great potential but it falls flat. maybe ill wait to get it used in a few months to see if its better
