"The first difference that we noticed is that textures aren't quite as sharp as what we remember seeing on the Xbox 360 game. While some stuff is fine, another texture close by will be of a much lower resolution, resulting in a disjointed look to some of the environments. And as this is a game where you constantly use cover and therefore get close-up looks at walls all the time, there aren't many things that can be classified as "small" details. Fortunately though, the game did run quite well and we didn't notice any significant slowdown in our time with it."

They noted no slowdown. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the cause for all the delays. It was probably running at 15 FPS with these crappy textures and they decided they had to fix one of the two problems, so delayed the game for 6 months to get to work on it.

It also said the controls are "looser." Nice. It feels extremely good to get the leftovers again. Thanks, Ubisoft!

The sad thing, of course, is that all this comes in the midst of Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Lair, and Heavenly Sword, all of which look absolutely amazing. So, in other news, Ubisoft has no right to say "The Playstation 3 needs a price cut!"

I'm more worried about the "looser controls" than the textures.

To be honest, Vegas' textures didn't really impress me much on the "other" console or the PC, either, and when in co-op, I could have sworn that I was looking at recycled brick textures from GTA.

The "loose controls" should be fixed, though, as tight controls are almost necessary for a game like this.

Oh well, if it isn't, The Darkness and Ninja Gaiden: Sigma come out that same week.

IGN also said that GRAW 2 is the same game in the 360 and PS3 versions....plus SixAxis and supposedly it should have some extra content.

Oh well... I guess it doesn't matter anymore. By the time R6 is release, no one will be interested. :P

You know what? **** Ubisoft, the only next games I'll get from them are Assassin's Creed and GRAW 2. I'll get Vegas for PC for all I care. I'm fed up with them now.

This is just another example of the lack of good porters in the Ubi staff. If that wasnt true, then they should explain how was Oblivion possible. I guess it must have been a magician the one who ported Oblivion since not only its the same game, but its also improved.

I think that Ubisoft is having a really hard time developing for the PS3. all of their games are below par with the Xbox versions. Oh well. I dont care anymore now that Socom has been announced. Who needs Ubi with Socom comeing out???

It was just an example of another game not related to Ubis dev teams that got ported and was better than the original

I know this is about Rainbow Six but others have been talking about GRAW2, well I found this on an australian based gaming site,

http://palgn.com.au/article.php?id=7579

sorry if i'm not allowed to post links due to post count.

but yeah says it will recieve bonuses for the wait.  Also on another note atleast PS3 is getting timeshift aswell, that was announced http://palgn.com.au/article.php?id=7629&title=TimeShift+coming+to+the+PlayStation+3

but back on topic I rather prefer to have looser controls and well hearing about the textures I hope they do fix that issue I would not be looking forward to that.

To be honest with you, I could care less about textures being a little off.  The framerate is the real issue.  I don't go around inspecting whether or not the slot machines are accurate. lol

Yea man... I feel the same way, since all these awesome PS3 games are right on the horizon.  By the time R6 come out... I'm going to be looking forward to Ninja Gaiden, LAIR, Heavenly Sword.
