Shin Megami Tensei games tend to become fairly expensive on Ebay, but not enough that it would be worth buying one when it came out just to hide it in your closet and not play.

Marvel Vs Capcom was a gem? anyway ppl, let's be honest, this gen sucks. I got a chance to play Left 4 Dead and it's one of my example why this gen is overated. Dont get me wrong the game is good but where is the variety? over an hr into the game we we're still just shootings hordes of the same monsters. and it's stupid how u have too start from beginning when u d ie

@Raven Sqaud Isnt Left 4 Dead a stand out title? iMGS4 was a movie with bonus gameplay content but the funny thing MGO is the most fun im having this gen GTA4 - boring entry in the franchise Sports/Wrestling games are my expertise and madden sucks this gen developers need to figure out the bad physics/animation that ruins 3D basketball games. At the end of the Show 09 is The Show 07(PS2) and the Smackdown vs Raw is just aweful.
I feel inFamous was a great game and has a possibility of being a gem. Fallout 3, definitely if there is no Fallout 4. Personally I've never played Valkyrie Chronicles (mainly because I wasn't to big a fan of the demo) so I can't say it's a gem...
Valkyria Chronicles (although there is a part of me that wouldn't be surprised if it does go GREATESTt HITS eventually).

ya I think these two games will be the ones we'll pay big money for in the future. games like Bioshock and Infamous have too many copies in circulation to be rare. unless they turn into major long lasting franchises like final fantasy i doubt it will happen.
I just ordered it on ebay there on Monday based on how much all of you guys praise it. Got it for €35 ($40/$45)
Have to see what all the fuss is about.

I've never tried an SRPG before, or played many JRPG's, but I'm willing to persevere with it.
I hated MGS at first because it was different, persevered, and now it's one of my favourite series'.
I just didn't want to miss out on playing VC all-together.

But with all this talk about about Valkyria Chronicles, im very glad i went ahead and decided to get this game. I do have to say, yokofox is the reason I decided to get this game, and I do have to say its amazing!!!
Another game I thought might end up being rare would be Folklore, an average game that did not sell well. It also seems that RPGs are the ones that end up rare.

I've heard them getting your game back to you/acknowledging there was a game in it at all is kind of sketchy. He said he's trying some kind of fan trick to make it spit the disk out. Hopefully it works.

Valkyria Chronicles is probably the rarest game in the UK. Even when it was first released I only ever saw 1 copy of it. and there's atleast 10 different game stores in my city. I really regret not buying it at the time.
I've also never seen Disgaea 3 or Enchanted Arms in any shop.
Rare as in monetary value? If so, Valkyria Chronicles and Disgaea 3 so far.

yeah, little known development studios with a cult following are gonna have the rarest games. or if a company doesn't make enough copies to meet demand. disgaea 3 is already pretty hard to find in stores.

I was quite lucky, I managed to get it from a local Gamestation at £20 during the christmas sales :P Also the same gamesation has several copies of Disgaea 3 in stock as well :) Guess I am really lucky.

Wow... Just wow.... You think L4D is a stand out title? If it is then I'm getting back into the crownd. :P Calling MGS4 a "movie" is just crazy. You can skip the cutscenes if you don't like them, y'know. The gameplay is more than enough to make this game one of the best this gen. And saying MGO is the most fun you've had this gen could hurt your credibility here. The majority of us know it was crap. If you think its that good then we may not care what you think. Just saying. Of course, you're entitled to your opinion. Just don't be shocked if a lot of people disagree with you.
Left 4 Dead was one of the few games to do co-op right and i feel it deserves more praise than it gets. As for rare gems, i'd say Demon's Souls is probably the only real one.
