Ratchet and Clank Collection is a Cool Idea, says Insomniac

God of War Collection was one of the biggest surprises of 2009, which featured the first two titles in the series remastered and bundled onto one Blu-Ray disc. It's one of the best values on PS3 to date, and the idea of offering a collection of past releases has caught the attention of Sony first-party developers as well. First, Team ICO revealed they were keen on the idea of a ICO Collection. Now, Insomniac Games give their opinion on a possible Ratchet and Clank Collection.

A follower of Insomniac asked the PS3 developer on Twitter if they were ever considering a collection, packing the four PS2 Ratchet & Clank titles on one Blu-Ray disc. Nicely enough, Insomniac responded.

i'd get it, but i wish Square would do a Kingdom Hearts and/ or FF collection.

Sony's first and third party developers just all need to do collections if they had good series last gen. Them, and Square Enix(I need to play the Kingdom Hearts games) I really want an Ico Collection, and a Ratchet & Clank Collection(amazing games)

I'll only buy it if it has trophies. I'm sorta playing the ratchet & clank games on the ps2 right now.ExoticAnimal

A Ratchet and Clank collection I think is a bad idea. C'mon people will play the first game and then when they get to the second game they'll realize that the games are nearly identical. Then when they get to the fourth game they'll realize its still the same thing. Fourth game and still the same stuff. I'd prefer an Ico/SotC Collection, two awesome games but with completely different experiences.

Make it happen, Insomiac. I'd gobble this collection up in a heartbeat. Games were awesome enough on the PS2. They'd only be better with some enhancements and other junk. Do it!

I'd rebuy those games if they were "collected" nicely. This type of move should be a no-brainer for companies. It's a quick way to turn some cash around and it pleases fans of the series as long as they are done well.spazzx625

It also sounds like it should be Sony who should be trying to push some of its developers to do this. I think it's a great selling point for the PS3 and something that the 360 and Wii don't yet have or will ever have. Wii maybe, but those GameCube games will just about identical on the Wii, and the Xbox? What popular series does it really have? Halo? KOTOR?

More companies should start doing this. I never owned the PS2, and while I have a BC PS3, I don't have the energy to hunt down all the titles I missed, it would be nice to have an easy to use collection. Here's hoping Ico,Jak and Sly Cooper get the treatment as well.

ICO Collection is all i need...but i also wouldn't mind a ratchet and clank collection ;)

I have them all, but I would rebuy it. I love the Ratchet and Clank series and this would please me.

Having the whole collection on a single disc would be nice, especially if HD enhanced. The only complaint is that playing the whole series at once will make you realize that R&C hasn't changed all that much since the first.

id like this. i never played any of the ones on ps2(i know i know, its not that i hated them just never got around to playing them) so idf they did all of the ps2 ones one ps3 with trophies 720p etc then id buy it for sure. ND should do a Jak and Daxter one too!

I hope that Rockstar also thinks its a cool idea and reserve the same treatment to GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas.

I'd buy it day 1. I used to replay R&C all the time on my PS2. When I sold my PS2, I bought a PS3 that had BC in hopes that I would be able to play my old PS2 games, specifically R&C, unfortunately R&C was one of the few games that doesn't have BC.

The first four with trophies and improved graphics = win :D.

I would buy it! I want a Jak and Daxter, Team ICO, and Sly Cooper Collection as well. Maybe this GoW Collection thing will spawn a series of collections. I would by them if they were a series I liked. It isn't a bad idea either. It keeps old titles from being forgotten. But most of the titles wouldn't be forgotten anyway because they are all ongoing series.

Yeah, totally want to see KH return, heart-broken when it wouldn't work on my PS3 (it broke the disc), would love a remake.

And yet the God of War Collection still hasn't hit the EU. :(

I'd buy aRatchet and Clank collection on day 1 as I didn't even play the PS2 games I didn't get round to playing them but I have all of the 3 PS3 and both PSP games of Ratchet & Clank.
