I just beat my first Ratchet and Clank Game!!! Tools of destruction is a blast and I can't wait to beat A Crack in Time!! To all those who had never given these games a shot (like me) just go and and get it. One of the most fun games I have played. It is funny, beautiful (graphically), and well done!!! Good job Insomniac!!!

Tools of Destruction was my first (and only so far) R&C game. It was decent. I did enjoy it, but I felt as though it took too long to get going. I actually agree with GS' score for it. I want to play A Crack in Time, but I'm not about to blow $60 on a sequel toa mildly dissapointing game I alreadyblew $60 on. I'll wait for a price drop. From what I've heard though I'm expecting it to be the best in the series.

Do these games follow any kind of order? I've not played any of the games before, but I got a crack in time thrown in with my PS3

Tools of Destruction comes before A Crack in Time. You don't really have to play ToD before ACiT because it gives you a recap at the start but I would recommend it because it's a great game.

This is the order of the whole series

PS2
1. Ratchet & Clank
2. Going Commando/Locked & Loaded
3. Up Your Arsenal
4. Deadlocked/Gladiator

PS3
4. Tools of Destruction
5. Quest For Booty (Just a mini game on PSN. Don't need to play to understand the story.)
6. A Crack in Time

I didn't include Size Matters (PSP/PS2) because they don't have anything to do with the main story.

I'm pretty sure all that is right. Feel free to correct me if wrong.

EDIT: Made a mistake. Deadlocked is part of the main story.

I had a feeling it was but I was more certain that it wasn't. Thanks for that, I'll fix it up now.

I liked it too, however, after playing every other game before it I thought that it was too easy. Oh, and you're going to love A Crack in Time, an improved sequel in every way including graphics, voice acting, story, comedy, and gameplay. ACiT is one of my top two R&C games (Along with Up Your Arsenal) and ToD was fun, but it can't compare. If you liked ToD this much, trust me, you'll love ACiT.

Ratchet and Clank is my 2nd favorite franchise. All the games are great. ACIT is my current favorite. I really hope they make a new one with some new gameplay elements added. I love the R+C formula, but I would like to see them at least try some new ideas.

R&C: TOD was my first R&C game as well and I thought it was fun to play. ACIT is just as fun, enjoy.

Been a fan of Ratchet and Clank games pretty much since they came out. I have Tools of Destruction, Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time for the PS3 (and most of the other PS2 games). I'm currently playing A Crack in Time, actually. It's paused for a sec, lol. Loving it - especially Clank's sections.

I got tools of destruction for 5 dollars when I purchased a DS3 controller.

DS3s were selling for 54.99 by themselves but then I saw that the controller and game were being offered in a package deal for 59.99. I will give it a shot sooner or later. Just too many games out there right now which is a shame too since so many people have said that it is a good play

Just wait till you try A Crack in Time. It greatly improves upon almost every thing.

Only 2 main complaints:

1. No multiplayer. I miss it from Up your Arsenal and Deadlocked.:(

2. Ryno 5 has no lock (like every other Ryno, and most of every weapon in R&C ).

Ratchet and Clank has always been a mediocre game series, but Tools of Destruction is one of the better R+C games. (Probably the best so far, but I hate the lack of multiplayer.)

This is all I will say about R&C Crack in Time: Groovitron + Tesla Spikes (greatest weapon ever) = Awesome. And if you want to get really nasty charge up a Dynamo of Doom shot...and the scene become pure beauty.
