Yeh Im excited for this one, and it will be my first Ratchet and clank to boot. I might go out and rent some of the others to get a feel of the game first.

It is certainly a great series, Game 1= Ratchet and Clank Game 2 = Ratchet and Clank Going Commando Game 3 = Ratchet and Clank Up Your Arsenal Game 4 = Ratchet: Deadlocked. You may want to play the games in sequintial order to get the full story because there are sure to be funny references to other games in the series.

Okay, I've always been a fan of platformers and action/adventure (J&D, Mario, etc.) but I've never played a R&C game.

So, will I miss anything buy buying R&C 5, or should I play the others first?

It looks so damn good, i'm going to have a hard time not buying it. :P

Looks like a promising game. If it is like all the others in the series, plus great graphics, it is sure to please. Looking forward to this title. Keep an eye out on it..

you know, i've never played any of the other games (haven't been a huge platformer fan) but I think this one is going to be great.

Am i going to *need* to play the other ones? like, am i going to be missing out on a lot of story? Is it going to be like MGS? or can I just more or less wing it?

You will definatly understand whats going on without having played the others, but if you do play the others first it will probably give you a little bit more fun factor. But, not having played the other games is no reason to not pick this up. It is a must buy, and Insomniac Games has said they already have it on a disk and it is playable all the way through, their just fixing everything up to make it more fun and polished now.

*GASP*! In my opinion, the R&C franchise is one of the best out there, and delivered on so many levels with each one of the games. All four should be >= $20, so go do yourself a favor and pick a couple up, if only to get you in a more Ratchety mood.

Gah, I have so many ps2 games to buy/finish already. I need to finish Jak 3 and SotC, and start MGS2 and GoW2. If i can finish these fast enough, i'll try and pick them up, but I don't know if i'll be able to before Heavenly Sword, etc. hit.

The ps2 had too many damn games. :P

Heavenly Sword... Killzone 2... Lair... LittleBigPlanet... MGS4... PAIN... RACF TOD... Rock Band... Skate... Socom: C... Stranglehold... Timeshift... GRAW 2...Turok... Uncharted: DF... Unreal Tourney 3... Warhawk... It seems there are a lot more good games coming out later than there are out right now, it can only get better for the PS3.

Every time I look at that screenshot I'm incredably amazed there is so much detail. Having played all the other Ratchet games, I imagine the area behind ratchet, the crazy obstacle course past the statue, the area to the left where the ship should be, and possibly a secret area that drops off over to the right. Just amazing... I wonder if Big Al's shop is still there...

The Ratchet and Clank games are one off my favorite video game seres. With Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction being the first next generation R&C it will be grandest entry in the seres yet, and rise the bar of what is in a R&C game. I can't wait!

I don't think you'll miss out on the story too much, but all of the R&C games are DEFINITELY worth playing. At the very least you should rent them.

Yeah, but Deadlocked wasn't the best in the series. it was good, but the worst in the series. If you can only play one, play Going Commando it's the best one in the series.
