Ratchet. You will actually have fun with that game no matter your age, while splinter cell is... well let's just say it's time for Sam to put away his spy hat.
Plus I think conviction might end up on the ps3 anyway, but it's definitely not the game to get a 360 for. Ps3 is finally building up some speed and it's only going to steamroll through competition in 08 and through out.
Why should I pay to play "Wannabe Metal Gear Solid" when I can play the real thing? It angers me that many young kids now associate Tom Clancy with video games rather than books. What a sell out...
Ratchet and Clank is REALLY GOOD. I just bought the original Ratchet and Clank the other week because I wanted to try it out before R&C Future comes out. The game made me forget how fun platformers are. It also has a great sense of humor that is easily accessible to someone 20+ years old. Not to mention, Insomniac is one of the best game developers.
Rachet and Clank for sure... way way way better... I have a 360 in fact this is my 3rd one... but that is another story... go with ratchet better gameplay by far,,, and that is what counts game play not graphice game play..
How dare you even compare Splinter Cell to Ratchet!?!? Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will be the best game on the PS3 this fall! Ratchet and Clank FTW! (I mean, come on, what's more fun than blowing @#$& up? Oh yeah, blowing @#$& up in HD. W00t.)

Wait, what!? Do you think a more expensive machine is more likely to die on you? Obviously the cheaper product is going to be less reliable. Yes, about 33% of Xbox 360s have overheated, gotten disc read errors, etc., etc., etc. They're speculating that almost all 360s released before the problem is fixed (the problem still isn't fixed) will break down before this generation ends.
I can't give you an unbiased opinionat allbecause I'm a Ratchet & Clank fan and I hate Splinter Cell so any answer I give will be biased but I'll try to hold back on personal opinions. If you're into platforming games like Jak & Daxter or Ratchet then you'll definitely enjoy this game. The gameplay seems just as fun as ever and the graphics look amazing. Splinter Cell on the other hand died after thevery first one(in my opinion). The series gets released way too often making the game worse every time and the story is not compelling at all. In an unbiased opinion, I highly recommend you choose Ratchet & Clank over Splinter Cell: Conviction (lol basically I'm telling you to choose PS3 over 360).
The Splinter Cell series is overrated and this new game is just a rip-off of Assassins Creed (stealth in an lively environment). Ratchet & Clank is one of the best series around and is way better than Splinter Cell in every way possible.
splinter cell is never any different really, u always end up doing everything with the five seven and sneaking around and junk, but rachet always has different weapons and its funny: )
