Is anyone actually shocked? I NEVER base my purchases off of reviews but after months of looking at the gameplay videos, I seen a low score coming.

I'm not because it seems like IGN's been rating plenty of games poorly lately just for the sake of looking edgy. I Am Alive, Silent Hill: Downpour, Ninja Gaiden 3, and now this game.
I don't even have any interest in the game but I doubt it's a 4/10.

Agreed....4/10 does seem a little extreme. 7/10 seems a little more realistic....I'm still gonna get it though....once it hits the bargain-ben.

ninja gaiden 3 is 3/10? BS!!!!!

Totally agree, the gameplay vids that I saw look pretty good.
Really? They replaced fast paced tight knit combat with QTE's from what I have seen... Look's like exactly what NG fans wouldn't want IMO.I have beaten 2 of the missions in this game so far. This game is every bit a 4 if not lower.
IGN isn't rating these games low "to be edgy" as one poster said. They are rating these games low because these are bad games!
I don't see the point of this Resident Evil Racoon city game, it sucked to me, so I couldn't care less if it got a 0, the Ninja Gaiden score was shocking though, still won't put me off though.I have beaten 2 of the missions in this game so far. This game is every bit a 4 if not lower.

I actually bought NG 3 today and I will play it later tonight as soon as I get off from work. Looks really good too.No seems like Capcom published a crappy game. Believe me I have already beaten 1/3rd of the story mode.Seems like Capcom didn't pay IGN enough.

Yes 4/10 is excessive, but yet again the game did not live up to its great ideas...who uses an auto cover system today ? anyway IGN was a little harsh, keeping my eyes on RE6 and Gamespot reviews
I was shocked to see this game get such a low rating. Believe me, it's not gonna stop me from buying it (pre-order even)... I really liked "Army Of Two" and it got a "low" score from the GameSpot-team -still, I had a blast playing that game and still do! It's one of the few games that allow split-screen co-op for the ps3 system.
I am currently waiting for the GameSpot-editors to post the review of this game hoping perhaps they give it a better review. I don't expect this game to be a RE-game... it is not in the canon! This game was clearly stated (in the beginning) to be a "what if"-scenario type game with old and familiar environments. I need a good cover-based action game after all these epic fantasy-themed video games (ex. Skyrim, Dark Souls, Kingdoms of Amalur).
To be honest I'm not shocked I didn't think it looked good. To be honest it kinda upsets me how they have ruined Resident evil over the years

Ditto.
Of all I've seen, the first level play-through has been on YouTube forever, the game looks about what it's been scored. Why is this so surprising to anyone? It's not a vote for return-to-old-RE, it's not some sort of hallucination, it got a low score because it's not particularly good, even in the realm it calls home, or it would have garnered a 7 at least.
It's not a good game. Perhaps a few people will enjoy it for what it is, but according to most, it's got severe-enough issues to mark it thusly. This isn't a conspiracy, CAPCOM just grunted a bad one into the bowl...

... Move along, nothing further to see here, I guess, when it comes to ORC. I will no more allow this game to deter me as a fan of Resident Evil games, than "Dead Aim" did...
:P
... The game's story is of interest to me, because they allude to this Op during "Resident Evil 2" in some of the files you find at the police station. It's too bad it's got some problems. I might still play it someday, but scores across the board like the game has been given mean it's not going to be a $60 purchase.
I really don't get some ppl lol.....not only they mentioned its going to different game and not like other RE games, but also a game that's mostly based around co-op and MP.....also I have picked up this game with few other friends picking in it up as well and in all honestly the game is a 7.5 at least. Yes it does have some issues that annoys me, there are few A.I issues as well. But I'm having a blast cuz I'm playing it with friends and I know they will eventually fix and patch the game. Again not sure why some of u are surprised that this game is different because from looking as all videos and reviews they all mention how we going to a different direction with this and that. While by all means its not going to be everyone's cup of tea but I can promise u this the game is def. Higher than 4.0.....to me it looks like the reviewers just hating cuz they want RE games to go back to its roots. Don't blame them I do too, but again ORC is a decent game specially with Frinds. Just my 2centsJoKeR_421
I hear ya @Joker_421 , it is a perfect game to play with friends and I think the over-all concept was great "BUT" the actual execution fell short. I'm still gonna buy it....just not at the present price.

Oh yea no doubt man my friends said that too so I agree....but I guess the reason why it doesn't effect me cuz now a days or at least this GEN. I haven't hyped myself for any game or got too excited for. Cuz let's face it us as gamers have higher expectations in most of these games that release and some do meet it too...but like I said I been keeping my expectation for games low so I won't be disappointed and enjoy my game while still admitting the game has flaws. But yea bro the game is still fun to me while with friends to be honest that's only reason why I got it. Only MP games I'm into are the ones that have co-opninja gaiden 3 is 3/10? BS!!!!!

Look up the reviews for Ninja Gaiden 3 on Amazon, people hate it already. This is disappointing considering these 2 games are ones that I've been looking forward to, but it seems I'll just pass on em.
It was destined to be bad but not 4.0 bad. I was never gonna get it anyway. Capcom should have just given PS3 and 360 gamers Revelations.
I plan to buy this game but knowing capcom after 6 months to 1 year i expect they release the racoon city gold edition so i hold my money till then, but after i heard/read the reviews i really have a second though now! Too many games i want to buy in capcom, but the expansion crap tells me not to.. Guess i have to stay to my modded xbox and not support capcom until its final content(no online sucks though)
No big site gives lower scores to seem edgy. They do it if they feel the game isn't good, it is as simple as that. I can't believe people think reviewers do this. It blows my mind. RERC looks horrendous. I watched my friend play it for an hour or so and we even recorded a video for it on our YouTube page.I'm not because it seems like IGN's been rating plenty of games poorly lately just for the sake of looking edgy.
