RE5 help..

Actually no it is not like MGS4 where you need to play the other games to understand the story, RE story is not that hard to understand. In RE5 you play as Chris Redfield ( my favorite RE chracter) that you played in RE1 and a small gaming role in RE:Code Veronica. it takes several years from the destruction of Raccon City and the downfall of umbrella cooperation, new enemies and old enemy faces will appear in this one like the famous Wesker.

As if you need to play the old RE games to understand the story I don't think you need to.

The first RE took place in a mansion where you went out with your team to look for your comrades who have been sent to a mission and never came back until you find their holicopter crashed and you find the pilot and other members died of seroius wonds not caused by the crash.

RE1 takes place in a mansion where Chris Redfield, Jill Valntain, Barry and their captian Wesker go hide in the mansion because of zombie dogs attacking them in the foresst. The mansion belongs to Umbrella cooporation and ther are a lot of dangerous things in it, you run into some of the members during the event of the game you find out that the captain os the team Weskers works for Umbrella and he is mostly involved in these Virus that cause Racon City to turn into Zombie land.

There was also a prequel called RE: zero for the Game cube where you plays as the members you were looking for in RE1 their job was to capture an ex soldies who has been sentenced to death and you start looking for him ( I forgot the femal character name in thi sone she was featured in RE1 and Escaped with Chris and Jill from the mansion after it explodes) the name of the ex soldier is Billy and the girl with the Raccon team is forced to work him to surive at the end she let him go afterv she knows he is inoccent and she heads towards the namsion where RE1 takes place.

RE2: you play as Clair Redfield Chris's sister she came looking for him and Leon Kenndy they both come accros each other and they try to escape from the city by going to the police department where you discover that the cif of the station is also working for Umbrella and that a secret research facility is under the station that you lso come accros in RE0, in the end they both escape the city.

RE3: you play as Jill Valantain where she tries to escape from the city but a monster called Nemisis is trying to kill each member of the Raccon police squad, you come accros a guy working for Umbrella who is sent to clear up the mess but he decides to help Jill. At the end they both escape after Racoon City was Nuked by orders from the president and Racoon city is no longer.

RE: code Veronica: you play as Clair Redfield who sneeks into an Umbrella company trying to find some info on her brother but ends up getting caught and sent to an island at the same time the island gets attacked and she starts wondering around the island with another person who stay toghter until they escape the island but the plane they took took then into another base and then you take control of Chris His sister sent a mesage to leon asking him to tell Chris he is being targeted by Umbrella that is where he comes to the island to save his sister but he finds out she was taken to another base and he rans into his former captain Wesker who attacked the base to capture Veronica because she has a special virous.

At the end both Chris and Clair escape and the other guy who was with Jill was taken by wesker because he was turned into a zombie but was able to control himself and not attack Clair. At the end both Chris and Clair decide to put an end to Umbrella.

RE4: you play as Leon from RE2 and I'm sure you know that at the begining of the game theyy tell you the US government has put an end to Umbrella and that it no longer exists and a new kind of smart Zombies are introduced in that game.

Of course there are other RE titles like RE: outbreak 1& 2 which talk about other people who are trying to escape Racoon city and there other RE games like the one for the Wii.

Edit: the Wii version is called Umbrella Chronicles and is considered related to the main story, I haven't played it because I don't have a Wii, if you do then buy it.

If you mean in terms of story then I have to go with Final Fantasy, my favorite is Final Fantasy X I thought the story was awesome.

the problem is that i cannot find the past installations, i only played RE1 and 4 but i cannot remember none of 1..btw, who is that guy that you fight in that maze, he is really buff, and then he grows like a huge scary arm, Krauzer? what game was he in before?George__1992

And yes, I'm well aware that it's not easy now to find all those games, which is a shame. Capcom should kinda remake them or release them again... if they've done that like 1,000,000 times with SFII why not with RE??

He only appears in RE4, but Leon knows him from way back.

Yup, Krauser in RE4.

i would replay all the games, like if i did not know the past mgs story i woulddefinitelybuy the past installations since they are everywhere.

Well it seems he has done something to himself maybe like a robot or new virus he came up with, in CODE VERONICA Chris hit him with a metal pip and it bended, what he has done to himself this we don't know.

Well I don't think you will have a problem, infact I already know the ending of RE5, you will have a count down timer and you need to escape, tell me a RE game that didn't have that.

im telling you, the game is gonna be awesome, march 19 has to come faster, im going to hold onto my christmas money and buy it first day!

A new virus... IIRC (not entirely sure) that was the only way to save his life after the Tyrant pwned him in RE. Something like that.

Because in RE0 you need to escape before the mansion explodes.

RE1 the same

RE2 I forgot

RE3 raccon City blown by NUKES and you had a timer.

RE4 the same

RE: CV timer with the boss battle and the base explodes at the end.

As we don't know RE5 story, we can't be sure what parts could be missing here or what do you need to know to understand what's going on. RE has 6 main games and 4 side stories, so anything could go here.

Not everyone agrees with that some people including me still miss the old RE games, RE4 did a great thing and was awesome but it changed the RE series from Survivor horror to Action/Advanture imo.

Not everyone agrees with that some people including me still miss the old RE games, RE4 did a great thing and was awesome but it changed the RE series from Survivor horror to Action/Advanture imo.

well im 16, so when RE1 came out i was like 5 so i did not play it until like after i played RE4, RE1 was way too slow for me...
