Read Dead Redemption vs FF13

So I essentially abandoned my PS3 for a while and since the Last of Us, I've been catching up on games that I missed. Since TLOU I've also completed Uncharted 1/2, LBP 1, Heavy Rain, God of War 1/2/CoO. I still have Uncharted 3, GOW 3 and GOW Ghost of Sparta but I'd like to mix it up after essentially powering through 2 Uncharteds (Platinum'd) and 3 GOWs (also Platinum'd).

Considering Red Dead Redemption vs FF13. Love the GTA games and played a lot of final fantasy games, though 10 was my last FF. Also, is the GOTY edition for Red Dead worth the extra $10 over the original (is multiplayer only on the GOTY, though not really planning on it anyway)? 

Rockstar games have always been pretty shit to me, so I guess I'd recommend FF13.

They're both pretty cheap by now but if you can only choose one go with Red Dead Redemption-

Played FF13 and been playing RDR a bit lately and I would recommend FF13. 13 may not be the best in the series, in fact, FF13 is probably one of the worst it's still a better game than RDR.

if you play ff13 cause you liked any other final fantasy, you will not be pleased with 13

rdr is a flawless game (that still isnt for everyone i suppose) that you will love if you are a GTA fan

Rockstar are the most reliable developer around, everything they make is awesome, and Red Dead Redemption is a terrific experience.

Don't listen to those that say RDR is crap because that is factually wrong.

Not that they can't dislike the game - everyone is entitled to their opinion.  If they find it "crap" so be it.  However, when a game is met with such acclaim by gamers, professionals and the buying public, the game is obviously a good one, even if a few didn't like it.

Hell I didn't like BioShock Infinite at all, but that doesn't mean it was a crap game, just not for me.

I say get RDR.

This. Also, multiplayer is in the normal version, but no one plays online anymore, so get the GOTY, Undead Nightmare is certainly worth it. I don't know what happened to the online community, it was there, full as ever a few weeks ago, but it's suddenly vanished into thin air like it never existed. Might be my connection. I'll check it out again to see, but this has happened quite a few times. When new AAA games are released the servers become empty, but after a month or two the players come back.
