Literally!

Now that the summertime is almost upon us and the temperature is rising, has anyone else noticed a change in the fan speed on the PS3?

I was downloading Blast Factor last night and it was taking quite a while. The fan was running as normal. Around 9:45 at night, the temp in my apartment reached around 85 degrees and out of nowhere it seemed as if the fan kicked into overdrive! We're talking like 360 LOUD...

Anyone else have an experience like this? Are there multiple levels of output for the internal fan?

Thanks for any input!

I'm just happy the ps3 is smart enough to turn up the fans if it gets hot... what are you complaining about?

It's summer time and you don't use your A/C?

My thermostat is 70 during the day and 60 during night time. 85 is flippin HOT for inside a house man.

Well, do you prefer a loud console like a 360 or a dead console like an overheated 360?

Not at all! I have been playing WarHawk Beta since 3 days continously and I havent experienced this and even if it did I would like to be as loud as it can get to cool down itself rather than dying on me!

It happend to me while Hosting a 16 player Server on Warhawk and I was
like WTF is that noise? Thought my PS3 was dying until i felt a lot of
air coming out of my PS3. It slowly went away and went back to normal.
lol first time I heard it, scared the s*** out of me.

You might want to invest in a central air unit.

My Tag is Cubez and I usually Host a Server called Cubez with 16 players on Badlands. It gets full fast though.

Im a bit worried now, last year AUG/SEPT it hit 99/100f in my house 101/102f outside, yes i have no air conditioning, want to know why.

Because i live in the UK.

If it gets that bad this year, im going to have more than one oscillating fan out, im going to have one for my PS3 and one for me.
