hey guys! my name's lauren i'm new to the site, but i was just wondering if you guys had any recommendations for good ps3 games. i caved about a week ago and decided to buy one, and i pretty much haven't been able to get off gta4 since i bought my ps3. a few days ago i also bought mortal kombat vs dc universe (which i wasn't very impressed with), soul caliber IV (because i've always loved soulcal games), and call of duty4. i really enjoyed playing call of duty, but after about 3 hours of cod i ended up throwing up. i have always had problems playing fps because i get motion sickness, but i thought since it had been a few years since i'd played cs i'd be okay. apparently not. this really bums me out because a lot of the good games for ps3 are fps, and i was especially looking forward to cod. (which was fun right up until i barfed). so any recommendations? :) i'd really appreciate the help

I guess, Killzone 2 would be something I would recommend to someone who wants another great FPS.
If your looking for anything Adventure-like I would strongly recommend Metal Gear Solid 4.

What are trying to do? Make em barf again!? Though I do recommend MGS4 as well if you've played the other MGS games. Or Uncharted, or Valkyria Chronicles.

Welcome to Gamespot, Lauren.

MGS4 is the greatest, it was my first MGS game and i loved it none the less. Only a few sequences in the game are really fast moving, so i don't think it would be to bad as far as the motion sickness went.

I agree with you though, COD4 was way to fast. When i got it i played for like 3 hours straight and i felt baked. My eyes were sooo sore.

Good luck with your search anyway, I can also recommend some games like GTAIV (just plain fun, took me like 60 hours to beat) and Oblivion. I'd reccomend oblivion overfallout 3, just because Fallout 3 is basically a cheap remake. Ninja Gaiden Sigma is good too, but no so good as far as motion sickness goes. Little Big Planet is also incredibly fun aswell, as far as "Kiddy" games go, really fun. Bioshock is also great, aswell as Assassin's Creed. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is good, better than COD4 for single player. Its also pretty easy going as far as fast paced visuals and flashed go.

Good luck anyway though!

I would recommend burnout paradise...but if you get motion sickness easily thats probably not a good idea. You should check out oblivion if you want a game that will keep you occupied for a long time.

If you like shooters give Uncharted a go. it's third person action/adventure with LOTS of shooting, or Ratchet and clank. if you like GTA saints row 2 is a good one to check out.

I get the same thing with most FPS's i don't actually get ill but they do make me feel weird (headaches, slight motion sickness) but The Darkness - a great FPS (In my opinion) never gave me any of those effects, it might be worth a try for you.

it may not look like much, but I thought it was great fun, I bought it day after release and still play it from time to time. You should rent it though if it doesn't appeal to you right now, I'm sure it'll win you over! :P

You should try Kilzone 2 or Resistance 2 they are not fast paced unlike COD series which are all running at 60fps but these two are locked at silky smooth 30fps which wont affect your motion sickness condition.Well my advice for your condition is you should never play games which run at 60fps like COD series,Burnout series ETC but nowadays few games do that unless you play them on PC almost all games on ps3 are optimised at 30fps.MGS4 is a must buy for every PS3 owner.

seriously i cannot stress it enough go and buy mgs4, 1st hand, not second hand the developers deserve the money, not gamestop or EB or amazon or whoever. BEST GAME ON PS3 IMHO.

If given the choice of choosing between Valkyria Chronicles and any other game OR 2 copies of Valkyria Chronicles, I'd choose the 2 copies of Valkyria Chronicles. That's how highly I think of the game.

Littlebigplanet is not to be missed along with burnout paradise. Killzone 2 and Socom are Good if you can get over your motion sickness :)
