so basically i turned on my ps3. turns green like its about to start. second later it just starts blinking red, and then if you click it again itll standby at red...wont let me eject my madden 10 disc....already tried starting it w/o a hard drive in it. doesnt work same thing...so im assumming its the ps3 thats broken? 80gig backward compatible etc. so anyone got any tips, or is my best bet to pay the 150$ for a new one

does that happen when you just turn it on? could be a pre - YloD, if it happens while you game then its over heating

doesnt even load up. light turns green (like if its about to startup) then starts blinking red

same thing happened to me 2 days ago, except that it first turned green, then yellow, an then flashing red

did you find anyway to fix it

or is there anyway to remove my madden 10 disc. wont even eject turns red right after i press the power button

You might be able to do a search and find out what failed. But with the power not powering up it could be a faulty power supply (just one possiblity of this failure).

Google "ps3 rlod" and see what you find. Try cleaning the dust out of the vents with a hoover, and see how it goes. If nothing works i guess you'll have to call Sony.

u might be able to fix urself. go to youtube and see if theres any videos on how to fix it

Its dead. Sorry. So its not just the 60gigs getting it. You cant get the disc out unless u open it up. If its under warranty dont. Send it in to sony and they will ask you if you have a disc inside. If its out of warranty you can try to fix it yourself. You need to heat up the board piece. I once heard somone who got the rrod wrapped a towel around it causing it to overheat, and melted it back on it. I dont think you can do that with the ps3 though.

yeah its not under warranty. so that means it will be 150$? do i have to call them for them to send me the packaging etc?

Yeah. Again sorry. Happen to me with the 60 gig 6 months ago. It didnt take more then a week.
