It is quite repetitive - get on horse, go somewhere, shoot some guys etc. Quite similar to GTA in that aspect. There is quite a lot do though and their is a multiplayer mode.

I find GTA to be a bit of a grind at times. But they're all still great games, as is Red Dead Redemption. Yet I always feel compelled to not just beat them, but try to 100% them. The only one I didn't get 100% on was Vice City, and that's only because I used constantly used a weapons "cheat" to get the rocket launcher which glitched something on me, so I ended up at like 97.8%.

9/10 for me. Just keep in mind the game is very much following the GTA formula, just in a early 1900's western setting.

I had fun with the "hunting" side quests, the random predestrians, the bounties, etc. Going back and forth between those and the main story kept the game from growing stale for about 15-20 hours. Really the key to enjoying any GTA game is just keep doing what YOU want to do rather than just blowing through the main story path.

For me the only part of a GTA game that becomes a real grind is when I'm trying to get 100% at the end. But that's just purely optional anyway...

The story would kind of get dull in parts, but then it would pick up and I'd get interested in it again. I thought there was a good variety of things to do, and a great variety of environments as well. And the whole thing is very atmospheric - riding on your horse, looking at a beautiful sunrise or sunset, or an intense thunderstorm, with the spaghetti Western music playing in the background. The shooting stuff was kind of repetitive, and the auto-aim made it fairly easy, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. There were a few mediocre things about it, but the good stuff made up for it.

I was hyped for RDR, but I found it to be SO MUCH more boring than GTA. Some parts were good, some, and after I beat it, I shot some towns up. That got boring quick, maybe I just miss machine guns I don't know, or there just wasn't that many people to shoot because you had to go from town to town. And multiplayer was really not all that I thought it was going to be. I was pretty disappointed afterwards, and couldn't wait to get it off my hands. Oh and, I was mad that I couldn't steal the damn train after I killed the conductor..ugh

It sure does. I was really really excited for it. Pre-ordered my copy and all but only got about halfway through the game (just entered Mexico) and got pretty bored of it. Haven't picked it up since the week it was released.

From what I can tell most gamers are pretty split between those who absolutely loved it and those who found it boring. I'm with the former. Personally, I didn't find a single thing boring about it. Sure, most missions revolve around going somewhere and shooting someone...but...it's a shooter :|. How many other great games follow that same formula? Dozens upon dozens.

If you got bored of GTA IV then you'll also get bored of RDR.

I passed of RDR because I assumed it would go the same route as GTA 4. It would get all kinds of hyped because it is a technical marvel and the media of course sucks up to Take Two. But it would get real old, real fast just like GTA 4 and that is exactly what I have heard a lot of.

Both GTA4 and RDR got boring really fast (RDR was boring a lot faster). They should remake GTAIII. I spent years on that game..

Only a handful of games were worth the pricetag. You should borrow everything if you can, lol.

Yea the multiplayer wasn't fun for me, once I beat the story I didn't play it anymore. But GTA I still play it after I beat it cause there's a lot more to do.

RDR is a great game that unfortunatly does get boring after awhile, as for GTAIV it never got boring to me and is a great game too.

It really depends on what you like for instance I like more modern games better because it is easier to relate to than games set in past.

RDR gets boring BUT it has wayy mroe replay value IMO than GTA 4. I played GTA 4 for about 30-40 hrs before I got bored (single player and then some random rampaging I never really cared for the online) and RDR took about the same time in single player but was more enjoyable and the multiplayer was incredible, most ntoably the coop with friends that also have the game, it's a whole lot of fun and random single player roaming is awesome fun too. Not to mention more DLC :)

RDR is worst than GTA4. You just, start a mission after 10 minutes riding your horse. Then, you go with the mission guy from point A to point B, it takes around 10 minutes too. Then, oh, there are bad people wanting your death, you kill 'em easily. The mission guy says thanks and the mission is finish. Now, you're in the middle of nowhere, so you ride your horse during 10 minutes to get to another mission... That's like this again and again and again. The gun thing is great, but everything is so damn easy and so repetitive. The worst game I bought this generation BY FAR.

Seriously, it's all my opinion, I know people who got the platinum trophy and still play online. There's probably something I didn't see...
