Red Redemption Dueling, how to?

Alright i suck at dueling ive come to that conclusionim asking for help, how come when duel someone,

i hit R1 6like 6 times, my meter clicks up slowley then he comes in with like one shot, does a little hip action then bam im dead,

whats up with that? i aim or the head and chest, am i suposed to hit R2 also?

Also wheis the best time to hit R2 and start the duel?

Yeah, you have to hit R2 as well. From what I understand, the blue meter is yours and the red meter is your opponent's. Whoever has the higher meter will win the duel. Basically R1 selects your shots (on Dead Eye Level 3) and R2 confirms it.

I had the same problem with losing duels. Then I found out the significance of the meters. Also, pulling back on the right analog stick will movie your hand closer to your gun for a faster draw. This also helps.
