ok a little violenece is good, much violence is not..........at least not for everybody.......i am a 20 yr old and i am ok with it but if my perants saw me rippingoff heads like what we saw inthe demo, God knows what could happen to my PS3??? thepoint is the extreme violence in the game could be a selling factor and a quiting factor, and i think for most ppl, it will bethe latter, i am expecting huge sales for the gamemay be around 3 million (out of 25 PS3 or more owners when the game is released)but i am sure the gamedeserves more but due to the content many ppl may pass.

Well GoW series were always meant for mature gamers (I am 33 years old by the way). I see 10-11 year old children playing Call of Duty and my opinion is that it is more dangerous to let a child play wargames than a fantasy hack 'n slash. Because in war games you have guns, which you can probablypurchase in real lifewithsome cash in your pocket. But this doesn't mean they should play GoW instead. The gameshops and parents are the most responsible parties here. If you let them play GoW, it is possible to see your child comehome with a white skin and red tattoo one day.

lol the game isnt and has never been that bad, gow had boobies, (not so bad) it had ripping of limbs (not so bad) nothing in them since then will have changed, and the others all sold well, i am sure a little violence will not hurt it at all. do u guys remember manhunt? that was graphic and got banned in a lot of places but still sold well. as they say any press is good press :P

This ^. Also, TC, you're 20 years old, you can make your own decisions at this point. Why would something happen to your PS3? I assume you mean your parents would take it away? lol

Well you don't have many choices then. Either you purchase the game and get caught to your father, who then crushes your system in pieces with a sledgehammer, or you don't buy the game, with this feeling of envy towards those who are playing GoW. Think of it this way; not having many choices is good, you don't get very confused.

yea, I think at 20 you should be mature enough to to handle games like that, if your parents don't understand that, then they need a little maturing themselves.

In response to both of these posts... if he still lives at his parent's house then he should probably follow the rules... no matter how old he is. I doubt he's paying rent or anything like that. If he had his own place, which I doubt, he would have a better arguement to play whatever he wants.

I can understand that, but with a game, that seems a little strict.

are you serious man? GOW should be as GORY as possible. If the violence is too much for you don't buy it. You go on to mention you are 20...but then you say if your parents saw you ripping heads off...god knows what would happen to your ps3? Lol...seriously, you are 20 and your parents are going to get on you for ripping the head off of an animated cartoon?

You think the sales will hurt because of the excessive gore? What are you talking about? I will tell you straight up that the game would have more trouble selling if they cut DOWN on the violence.

I'm curious why people complain about violence and such. That's what this game is. If you don't want violence, buy a different game. I imagine if the developer had wanted to make a different game to appeal the peace loving crowd, they would have.

I think some parents are just super control freaks. I mean, my parents use to fast forward through sex scenes in movies when I was like...12 years old?

Now I have porn laying around my room and its no big deal...There is conservative (which I and my family would be)and then there is "church" conservative lol.

That's good that your parents still have that much influence inyour decision making... most people these days aren't that lucky. As for the sales... yeah, I think the gore factor will cause some people not to buy it. But I also think that for every one person that doesn't buy it because of the gore, two or three people will. Now if these younger gamers... the one's that aren't old enough to buy it... I think the parents should have complete controll over what they play, watch, listen to, etc. I'm all for being an individual, but not until your old enough to really make an educated choice and not just do what everyone else says you should.

It's going to be banned in at least 2 countries (AUS & Germany). Even I was a little surprised by how brutal and violent GOW 3 looks. In a good way, of course.

GoW has always been violent, there's nothing wrong with it, that's why it has a M rating! Jeez from what i've seen it's nothing excessive, in GoW 2 there's scenes where you bash people's head in doors, just because the next-gen adds more graphical detail doesn't make the principal any worse. Personally people are just too uptight and we haven't even seen the game yet to be judging the violence in it.

He did say they were conservative and religious, My mother is too but not extremely strict, but she somewhat cares what I play. She wouldn't take away my console she'd just comment on what I play and then leave. My PS3 is in the basment anyways and there's nothing there for her to go down for so it doesn't matter what I play.

If your parents are that religious, I'm sure they wouldn't be happy about you playing a game where you're running around as the God of War...period. Seeing as how polytheism is heracy.
