Region free games question

Hi,

I'm going to visiting some family in the UK and wanted to buy my nephew some PS3 games. They're all cheaper to by here in the USA, and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with how well region free games work?

Do all games pretty much work on every PS3? He has the 160gb slim UK PS3 version.

i believe that PAL PS3's can play any games, but NTSC PS3's may have problem playing certain PS3 games.

Not sure how DLC works.

Every single PS3 game is region free. DLC, Blu-Ray movies and DVDs are not. A US game on a UK console should work exactly the same as the UK version would.

As long as he's connecting to HD it should work with no issues. As mentioned, the DLC for games are not region free. Any games that you take over there would not be able to use the add-ons from the UK store. He would have to get it from the US store instead.

I'm from the UK and I haven't had a problem and games are region free I have games from Hong Kong and the US and I haven't had problem playing them in HD or by scart.
