I've just updated my PS3 and my PSP to 3.40.  Registered my PSP to my PS3.  Set my PS3 to Remote play.  Accessed Remote on my PSP.  Result is amazing.  I was at my friend's house which is 8 miles away, connected to his wireless.  Accessed my PS3 with my PSP through Remote play.  It's like having your PS3 in your Pocket.  I'm able to listen to my music stored on my PS3.  Log on the PSN store with my PSP, download the new Uncharted Drake's fortune on the PSN store save it onto my PS3 harddrive and was able to watch it on my PSP.  Along with that,  I've was able to watch 3 episodes of Samurai Champloo I saved on my PS3 all streaming to my PSP through Remote Play.  This is some awesome $#!t guyz.  I recommend any Sony fan with a PSP to check it out.  I just wish I can access my DVD I left in the drive.  That would be tight if I could access the dvd I left in the drive, all through remote play.

First you have to put your PS3 in remote play mode then you can access your PS3 using your PSP right?  Or you can put the PS3 in remote play using your PSP, meaning that you don't have to put the PS3 on first... you can turn on your PS3 by using your PSP where ever there is hot spot and access your media and after finishing you can turn off your PS3 using your PSP?

anywhere with a hotspot.  That is correct.  But first you have to register your PSP to your PS3 in the setting.  Than in the XMB under the brower section.  Switch your PS3 to Remote play mode.  Than leave your house.

i forgot to mention.  I also registered my PSP to my Friend's PS3 and I'm also able to access his PS3 as long as his PS3 is set to remote play.  I just tried it out and was able to watch his movies on his PS3 as well as other files on his Media Servers.  Really cool stuff.

There is a option when you press the HOME KEY on the PSP that is PS button (Acts as a PS Buttion in the center of the controller).  I'm trying to figure it out right now.  I'm be posting to keep you updated.

I guess the only bad thing is that you have to leave your ps3 on in remote play for this feature to work :( . Oh well maybe in an update that will change but still really really cool

Oh yeh I guess it doesnt suck as much power since the cell isnt number crunching tho.

I've come to a bump in the Road.  Technically, I should be able to turn my PS3 off through the PSP.  During Remote Play on the PSP.  I noticed that when I press the HOME buttion it brings up 3 options.
1. Quit Remote Play2. PS Button  (Text on the bottom of the screen side scrolling saying "Performs the same operations as the PS button on the PS3 system."3. Settings
Problem I've encountered.  I select the PS Buttion but the only thing that happens is I see the controller number on the top right of the screen with no options to turn the controller or the system off.  I'm still trouble shooting and i'll keep you posted.

So far I've tried turning both controllers off and using a usb keyboard to activate remote.  Than throught the PSP I enter remoteplay and select the "PS button" option.  Still no luck.  I'll try holding the Home button down.  BRB with results.

No.  The only time I connected the PSP to the PS3 using a USB cord was to register the device. I'm able to access my PS3 with my PSP through any hotspot.  I was just able to do this today.  If you read my other post in this topic you can read what other things I was able to accomplish.

Why wait until next week? I'm already able to do so. You should be able to also. I just updated my PS3 and PSP today. My PSP in using update 3.40. I'm converting my video right now to post on youtube. I'm repost once the video is done being converted and give you specifics of how to find the vid on youtube.

I'm having problems registering my PSP to my PS3.  I've followed the instructions, attached my PSP to my PS3 via USB cable, and the message I get from my PS3 says that "no PSP is connected" or something like that.  Any suggestions?  I just updated my PS on Thursday (update 1.8) and according to my PSP, it has the latest update already (it says this when I try to update via the internet).

Thanks, dude.  PS3 is awesome.  I love all the things the PS3 can do, and will do in the future.  While it's current line-up of games isn't the greatest right now, the big guns are coming...Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Lair, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, MGS4, and the TWO Final Fantasy XIII.  Wow.  And Blu-Ray capability, Internet access out of the box, and Remote Play?  I love my PS3; it is simply superior to the 360 (and hasn't broken down like my 360 did).
