So as many of you know this holilday season is gonna be an expensive one for most of us gamers. Since I can't get every game I have an interest in, I'm kinda on the fence whether or not I should buy or rent BioShock? I'm thinking about renting since it is a year old and not to mention it's full price. So for those of you who played through BioShock, should I rent or buy?

Keep in mind if I buy a game usually like to replay multiple times to get my dollar's worth. Does BioShock have enough replayability to justify a purchase?

I'd have to say rent. I really didn't find enough replayability to buy it. Play it once, its a great experience, but unless you can get it cheap, just rent it.

Don't see why people underestimate the value of renting. If you rent a game for 8$ and beat it, you'd know first hand whether it was worth buying to replay. If you buy it and it's not worth replaying, your now out 60$ (until you sell/ trade in) opposed to 8. Sure some people save money by constanly buying-trading/ selling, but if you're someone like me who takes forever to finish a game (still haven't finished Assassins Creed :) ), then renting deserves a second chance over.

i agree...especially games with no multiplayer...it cuts back the replay value quite a bit

I would say rent it and see if you like it. I found the pc version good for two play trough's to get the different endings, then it got boring. The ps3 version i rented and was happy for a few hours, the it got repetitive.

IMO - good for 1 play through.. After that I don't see the point. I rented it and was happy enough with that. Good game, but like all other shooters with no multiplayer - not worth buying.

But theres not much replay value, but there is DLC coming for it, for about $9.99. SO I would suggest waiting for that and seeing if it justifies buying the game.

I jus play the demo today.. and I`m buying it.. That said, I like having all the games I like.. I rarely rent, specially bc sometimes take me weeks to actually have the time to seat and play. Also note that I do not buy new games, that is why used in GS was invited :P

So if you are not a game collector and you can complete the whole thing (and get the trophies if you care about that) on the rent time.. yea.. go ahead. I think it would be the better optin for you

Hope that helps :)

I'd say rent. It only lasts about 8-10 hours, so you can beat it in a rental period. It's definitely worth experiencing the world of Rapture, but it doesn't have very much replay value. I bought it on 360 when it came out, and have only played through it once. I tried playing through it again, but you don't get that same epic/wow feeling that you got when you originally played it. :)

Its on the front page of Gamepsot Au, so chekc it out. From what i read its three challenges, sounds intresting, but don't know if i really would pay extra for it. +Go Guns & Roses;)
