With Thanksgiving break starting tomorrow I was thinking about renting a game. So just wondering is Prototype a good rental? how long is the main story? I've heard there are some majorly frustrating parts? Is that true? Thanks

well ive heard good things about the game, having never played it myself i wouldnt know, BUT with EVERY game comes frustration, but the more frustration the more fun to beat it.

Before you rent it ask yourself if you've played Infamous. If you haven't. Rent that. If you have. Rent something else because Protoype feels like a ghetto infamous.

After my inital reaction to prototype (it just seemed ugly), i put it away. pulled it out a month or two later (platinum'd last week), and glad i did. It does have good gameplay overall.

The story is solid length, I don't quote hours as every player is different and most peole obviously lie when they do so. I wasn't disappointed by the length however, and the events are mostly fun and give you a lot more stuff to do afterward.

It did frustrate me. Those events mostly have a time limit, and some are just plain frustrating to achieve, although they are all possible, there's 2 or 3 of those that don't appear to be while you fail 10-20 times. I swore out loud... more than once.

The story mode on hard, had me near rage at one point, as I don't feel there are sufficient mechanics in place to protect things, which is what it was asking me to do at that time. the story on default dificulty was not all too frustrating, and (after hard) easy was breazy to finish without dying at all for one of the trophies.

As other's hint, playing it back-to-back with infamous probably is not a good idea, and probably the mistake i made. But if you separate em, should be sweet. I'm not disappointed I bought it (after giving it the second chance).
