Repair question

I got the YLOD a little over a year of owning my B/C 80 gig ps3, and was obviously very dissapointed. I have just sent my Ps3 in for repairs and upon questioning, i made sure iwas going to recieve the same system back (I live in canada btw). My question is if anyone knows the average life of a repaired ps3, like if sony uses newer parts or watever in the repair process. Im just asking because 170 dollars is a big blow to my wallet and next time my system breaks im not gunna bother getting it fixed. Is thereanyone who has had their ps3 repaired have it broken down again?

I think they send you a refurbished one. Or at least a new paint job because mine came back looking new.

To my understanding, if they can't fix your PS3, Sony will send you a similar model back. It is new but they consider it refurbished because before they send the new model to you, they go through a series of tests to make sure it is working within their standards before they ship it out to you.

If my 60GB dies again, I'm just gonna chuck it & get a Slim. :( :P
