Basically which is better to you. I liked Dead Space more. If Resident Evil 5 had more chilling gameplay moments it might have proven better.

Can't argue with you on that. Given that RE5 is set in Africa and most of the gameplay is daylight, it ruined the magnum opus that once was Resident Evil.Basically which is better to you. I liked Dead Space more. If Resident Evil 5 had more chilling gameplay moments it might have proven better.

I bought RE5 because I loved Dead Space so much, but I don't enjoy it half as much unless I'm playing with someone, Sheva is a b****. I didn't find RE5 at all scarey either, yes there are some freaky bits but not scarey. Dead Space has a better atmosphere too and most of it's actually in the dark, which RE5 needs a lot more of, not freaky or scarey if it's in the middle of the day while the sun is beaming.
Dead Space is the new king of survival horror. RE5 is no longer a horror game, it is an action game featuring monsters. Silent Hill has gone down hill now that Team Silent has passed the reins to a developer not quite knowledgeable on the mechanics of horror and fright. Dead Space go it right.
Dead Space is atmospheric, had an original story for survivor horror video games, and excellent gameplay. RE5 had a lame story, predictable gameplay cliches, and terrible controls. I personally liked Dark Sector (considered to be a RE4 and Gears rip-off) and Army of Two coop better than Re5.
while dead space is scarier (or simply scary period since RE5 isnt scary) and has better controls, I found RE5 more fun to play. RE5 also hadmore replay value and coop is always fun. my vote would be to RE5, but not by much really
I voted both. Dead Space for it is one awesome horror game with that walkin' aimin' thing that people like to compard to RE5 so much.
RE5 for its multiplayer features... Play online with your friends is a fun experience! Of coz, it's not as scary. I believe Capcom will work on that for the next RE.
both are not scary. both are fun. re5 has online co op. both have crap storys. RE5 tho story pretty much was like a steming pile of #### compared to the other re storys. ,, i think re5 gets the edge but it still pissed me off on how bad the story was.. i mean. me and my brother were making fun of it the hole thing thingwhile playing it. .. now when ever someone calls us to do something we respond with. 7 mintues/ 7 mintues is all i can offer you.
Dead Space - dripping with horror.
Resident Evil 5 - overwhelming tension.
Both are great. Toss a coin, you won`t go wrong with neither of them.
Completed Resi 5 online co op with a friend it was awsome great laugh comments r right it anit as scary as it used to be gonna blag dead space off a mate.
I'll go with the pioneer of the two, Resident Evil 5. Since when were survival horror games soppose to scare you? Was that an official definition done by you guys in your heads? Now lets think for a bit here, if the RE universe was for real, wouldn't you be scared to death if you had dozens of those Majinis run after you with their heads blown off and bring out those nasty weird things popin out of their heads ready to cut you open while you have about 10 bullets left to use?

Umm... the wordhorror is asociated with scarey things, if the game genre includes the word horror in it you expect it to be scarey.
The RE universe is not real though that's the whole point of games, yes it would be scarey in real life, but because we can't start killing Majini in real life we use games to do that and RE5 did not immerse you in the action as well as Dead Space did.

Thats like saying the next horror movie comin out in theatres should be scary, when they are not. the last game I felt scared of was the original Resident Evil because it start a fresh new genre that many reconize, when RE 2 came out I knew what to expect and it didn't become scary anymore, but that doesn't mean I counted it out from it being a survival horror game. Lets remember that we are the ones who are sopposed to have the character survive from the horror events they are facing, not to play as the character and jump in the couch and scream like a lil girl about it.
I have played Dead space and honestly it is not scary at all, bloody and gory yes, but anyone who would of gotten scared is someone to laugh at honestly. Dead Space is a great game, but you know how it was influenced by right? I know you do.
I haven't played either enough to judge which is scarier or a better shooter, but i enjoyed the demo of RE5 alot and i even played the game on Co-op and it was just as fun. I'm actually thinking of buying the game to play it Co-op. I dunno, i didn't play Dead Space so I can't say which is better..
yea im not saying your wrong for not likeing that control. how ever as some one who has fired some were in the ball park of 200,000+ rounds from pistols of many types i can tell you that shooting while walking is not very effective lol.I only bought Dead Space and it was a awsome game...
the only thing that made me not buy RE was the controls, that thing of you can't walk and shoot at the same time I think it was stupid, but that is just my opinion :)

I actually found Deadspace to be a dreadfully boring gameplay experience. After the first random dead body comes back to life it doesnt have the same effect, same with the zero grav areas and silent outer space sequences. All very great stuff for the first time, but replaying those same segments in different regions of a dark ship... I was dissapointed in were my 60$ was spent. It is easy for me to recommend RE5, amazing gameplay, great story, great characters, and awesome animations. I loved the game, RE5 takes the cake IMO
If u are going for HORROR,I recommend dead space for u
If u prefer playing online wif friend, resident evil 5 will be the choice
If u are going for replay value, resident evil 5 is one of them...
If u want to play a game during midnight in your room,Dead Space is the choice
Overall ......DEAD Space is the CHOICE
Played and cleared both. If we're talking about the first (and only) time that you're looking at playing these games, then I'd go with Dead Space. It has the atmosphere, the suspense and the storyline. However, once you've played it through once, there's very little replay value I find... everything jumps out at you from exactly the same point as it did before, all the same scares are there in exactly the same place as they were the first time, and if you're doing a continued game, you'll also be ridiculously over the top in the firepower department. For example, right at the start of the game, where you get seperated from your team and have to run off to survive, it was great the first time round. Second time round, I just stood there and blew it to bits instead of running, so it can get old fast.
As far as replay value goes, I'd put my money behind Res. Evil, but its not a horror game anymore. If you want straight up horror, go get Dead Space.
I wouldnt get Dead Space for the horror aspect as it isnt scary, unless you are a young child. I loved Dead Space as a typical Scifi shooter, and RE5 is a great action game.budboarderSo you seriously think only young children thinks Dead Space is scary? C'mon tough guy, you can admit the wet spot in your pants. OT: Dead Space, but it was a little bit too much killing the same enemy over and over, a lot more different enemies in the sequel would be nice.
