...Would be every resident evil fans dream come tru. At the time of this games release, it was for the ps2, imo the downfall to this game was the fact that one would need to purchase had a seperate modem you had to buy to go online, you would also need to purchase a HDD drive for the ps2 to take full advangtage of the game which was out of the question for young resident evil fan many of us were with no monetary income.

Now fast forward to now, ps3 with built in online capibilities and hdd. All i am saying is please, for those who always yearned to play this game, give us a chance, an oppurtunity, capcom.

Who else agrees with me?

Remaking older games is Win Win all around.....Games was more special then and desreve a HD upgrade, I am probably for about 85% of all older gen games be remade in HD with the addition of multiplayer, coop, and trophys.

I got outbreak back in the day, good graphics, cool story, but the game play, the mess it was online with all those people not knowing what to do was horrid

Outbreak scared me so much. I remember I was about 12 playing them both for the first time. In Outbreak 1, Thanatos breaking through the wall made me shut down my PS2. They need to bring them back with mic support too.

Yeah, that game was a little ahead of it's time. It would be awsome to see an updated version

outbreak was just ahead of its time. in today's gaming enviroment, which is so reliant on online, this game would be amazing.

Exactly, I never had a chance to play simply because it was just to expensive for all of the components plus the fact that I wasn't making my own money at the time.

How so?They had everything that made the first ones great and more , why would anybody like he first 3 and not like those? They were way scarier than the first three , they had online , all of its scenarios were the very definition of creepy , haunted hospital while being chased by something in the vents , running away from a crazy guy with an axe in the jungle , zombie elephant in the zoo.You were always under pressure with very limited ammo and felt like a regular joe in a zombie outbreak , any game that captures that atmosphere again wins me over in the zombie horror department.

I disagree. Nothing about the Outbreak games brought back good ol' classic RE memories. One of the things about the old games was that you felt extremely vulnerable, even with an automatic rifle and shotgun, there was still a very serious threat of death. While you could die just as easy, having like 3 other people with you completely made the atmosphere disappeared. It's one of the reasons RE5 lacked any atmosphere, you can someone to watch your back 24/7. One of my problems with the games is that they felt completely disconnected. There was no real story to be had, it didn't add anything to the RE universe and having the several different scenarios(that could be played completely out of order) just seemed very unlike the traditional RE style.

The change of scenery and setting in the old games felt very natural. You followed one character, maybe sometimes playing another character for a little bit, and you'd follow their storyline. You got connected to that character and by the end, were invested in this character. The old ones and RE4 had way more to offer than the Outbreak games. And come on, when Outbreak came out there's 5 games in the series that had basically the exact same gameplay and while I love that style, a change was definitely welcomed. Maybe that game was more fun in online co-op but then it would completely stop being a survival horror game. It's been a while since I last played the Outbreak games but that's fine by me, the old school RE games and RE4 are where it's at in my opinion.

I was talking about these games when the new RE was shown, I am hoping it fills the shoes of Outbreak because it was tons of fun with friends.

I'm sure it'll be fun with friends, and will be similar to Outbreak, but it won't be as cool. From the stuff I've seen/read, it sounds a Resident Evil mod for Socom.

Well I'm glad we see the same things then , we just have different opinions about it.Having some people with you , that were clearly defenseless unlike your companion in re 5 ,who could roundhouse kick 3 zombies together without breaking a sweat, felt very natural to me because each scenario were an outbreak and naturally some people would escape the first few moments , in my case I always had my companions dying on me , if anything it felt like babysitting a la ashley in RE4 , which IMO made things scarier because you had two asses to worry about. The scenarios having no connection and being very different were one of the best things, you had different things to scare you , different strategies and different perspectives about that world , of course , like you said they had no specific connection with the RE universe , which has its heroes , in this game there's no hero it's a regular joe with a regular profession , most of the times one that wouldn't involve having a gun , struggling to surive the outbreak. If you ever thought while playing the first RE's "how are commom people dealing with it?" , outbreak series were the answer. To be honest I never played it in co op and I agree when you say it would stop being a survival horror.Just to sum it up , if you look at the outbreak series as a RE fan some nice aspects of the game will actually be a turn down like you said that's for sure , but as surival horror it did a great job while keeping some elements of the RE world.

I agree with above dude. Re 5 was a joke in terms of horror and survival...enimies dropping ammo and health? No thanks
