Resistance 2 Ending: Discussion (SPOILERS, obviously)

Alright, I have just finished single player campaign after getting the game two days ago. I must say, the ending has simply shocked me. I read the Wiki of R2 for another look at the plot, and they said something very interesting. I think the plot was good, not as uninteresting as Gamespot said, but character development could have been better, as they said. I really didn't feel much sorrow when Nathan died. Now if they put Solid Snake there and was shot in the face, then I would have felt immense sorrow. All I felt with Nathan, though, was shock, wondering if that really happened how it just went.

-I don't know what psychotropic means, but I think this is somewhat plausible. I never recalled how Chimera DNA might lead to illusions of this scale, though.

-Again, I think this is possible, as well, but you see the ship clearly start steering downward after the explosion, not upward. Though what you see on the ground looks nothing like Earth, more like Mars. Then again, though, that is probably because of the nuclear explosion.

-Maybe they can come up with some sort of explanation as to how the Chimeran flagship, say, has a lot of energy and made it that way? I don't know, but one nuclear explosion definitely doesn't blow the entire WORLD into space... It is still beyond me as to what "you are all coming home" means.

Also, anyone know as to what the two huge spheres that Nathan is looking at could be? They remind me of the Death Star... LOL...

Dude, you're paying attention to Wiki... but I guess that at this point Wiki's theories are as good as any.

BTW, as far as I know "psychotropic" is a characteristic of things to make you trip, meaning you'll have illusions/visions when consuming them. Kinda like some drugs. But I doubt that's the case here.

The ships were working toegther to do something in particular. The energy discharge could have been some kind of portal or....Something. I don't think that huge planetoid was an illusion. I also don't think that Hale will remain dead--At least I hope not. I don't want to play as Capelli in R3. He'll probably regenerate, be captured by the military while the Chimera flock towards the....Thing in the sky.

Then again, it's probably more likely that the shuttle was what ended up being teleported rather than that planetoid and Capelli's found himself all alone on a foreign rock.

I just hope I get to see Parker in the third one. It'd be awesome to play as her.

At the ending I was like OMG no way!!! I was actually in shock for while, like did that just happen?! It ended so suddenly, but I really hope there's an Resistance 3, that would be swell. Fun series.codalloo

Hale is alive, hopfully hes not all cyborg ninja style but somehow lived. Dont know if we will be playing as him in the next Resistance tho, well have to wait and seeUnknown_Hero3

this is actually in a Intel, where the Chimera ship is going is the Yucatan peninsula, where before the rise of man their was a massive meteor that devastated the planet. also it is said in co-op Intel that the chimera are bringing together pieces of "grey teck" which are actually not of Chimera origin and have caused massive breakthroughs in technological ways. Daedalus says that he is trying to protect earth, but from what? humans? i don't think so, i believe that the Chimeras were in a massive war before the dawn of man and they aim to finish it. back on grey teck, all the grey teck is also a part of a gigantic weapon. also i did a bit of my own research into this asteroid and the grey teck carbon dating. in the Intel, the grey teck is placed at about 60 million years ago, now just wiki Yucatan peninsula and you get information about the chicxulub crater, which impacted earth about 65 million years ago.

in conclusion, grey teck makes up a super weapon, which impacted earth 60-65 million years ago and spread the grey teck around the planet. the chimera are trying to rebuild it so they collect grey teck and drag the main weapon out of the planet. which is probably what Daedalus referred to as a "star" ( anyone smell feat wrapped in leathery burnt Bacon?). as for Nathan and cappeli,its to soon to say. it can go several paths which all lead to a sequel.as for the past war with the chimera, i do smell a foul haloish turn with the flood.( which actually fit the chimera better than the unknown combatant). we will most likely get more info E3-09

i don't no why GS said R2 had a bad story, just look how far it goes into actual human history for a si-fi game.

The whole story is confusing... in the campaign, the intel tells u a lot of the story, from the Russian doctor that looks over the soldiers of Project Abraham, to Daedalus.In the end, hale had 3 hours, and he helped deliver the fussion bomb(nuke), whenthe the others failed. then when Capelli and hale where leaving, crashed because of the nukes explosion. thats where Cepelli killed hale w/ no hesitation. Theres no way hale could survive that( even though hales gone through so much else. that was a Desert Eagle... .50 cal bullet ripping through his head. no healing power could stop that.) but there is going to be another Resistance game this year,2009, and it takes place between the first and second game.:D And if theres going to be another Resistance game besides that, it might take place w/ Capelli... no hopes there.

Basicly, all im saying is its Sonys answer to the X-Box's Halo... theres halo 1-3 w/ halo:ODST(Recon) and halo wars. which means theres going to be the same amount of Resistance games. But thats going to be ina while.

The more probably explanation is that the whole game was a dream/vision. I believe that when Hale wakes up, after the 6 weeks coma, it's all a dream/vision.

That or in R3 you play as capelli. If both of these theories are wrong...lets just say that what it's left are the really crazy explanations.

Insomniac already said that they will make one Ratchet and Clank game , then the next year Resistance 3 , so i don't know why half of you are even not sure about the third part,it will come 100% , as Hale said at the end , This is just the begining .

And i think Hale will be in the third part , i am almost 100 % sure . Insomniac knows that everybody will prefer badass Hale , than a guy like Capelli .

Uhh...

that could be true... that it was a Dream or a Vision. but that would be gay and insomniac would lose a lot of customers. But creating your own guy would be a seller, and more PS3 games will start off from that(just like EndWar, now games have voice commands) Also Ratchet and Clank is a different game, where any possibility could come true, so im not sure about that...
