So I just got R2 and the single player is effin amazing. But when my buddies came by to play the "3 player co-op" I thought the game had, all we could do was play 2 player. Is there a way around this or do we have to all buy PS3's to enjoy this co-op mode?

Another question, so when we played 2 player it was ridiculously hard and looked like some kinda death-match game with xp points and such. (Probably really fun with 8 people I know, but...) Even if there is no way to play 3-player off-line co-op, why the heck can't we play the 2-player campaign like RMoF? It's either really lame of Insomniac or I'm doing something wrong. Please help if you have any answers or suggestions, even if your answer is YOU'RE SCREWED! hahaha, thanks

P.S. I haven't gotten the R2 1.20 patch yet cuz it wont download to my ps3 for some reason. If you've downloaded the patch and you have the ability to either play 3-player off-line co-op and/or 2 player regular campaign please let me know, this would resolve my problem.

No, 2 Player off-line co-op is a part of R2. However, the only way to play with 3 or more is on-line. However, I think you can have 2 players on the same machine and play with others on-line...

The game only allows 2-player splitscreen. So your friends will have to take turns. My suggestion: pick your best friend and play splitscreen online.

Insomniac didn't include Campaign co-op because they added an entire new co-op mode that supports up to 8 players online.

Yeah - still a max of 2 people per PS3.

This gen is depressing in that way, i mean i want to interact with buddys when they come over, not just go like "hey go to your house so we can play resistance 2 ONLINE", its like they want us to be less social...

wow some of you are never happy are you? they put time into making a completely different storyline to give more replayability, while offering a split screen experience that most games this gen already dont offer especially since you can team up with 6 other people on line and still keep the split screen going, and SOMEHOW it still is not good enough for you. holy freaking crap.

Unfortunately no. However, you can do 2 people splitscreen for both competitve (online) and cooperative (online and offline).

If you have a big enough TV and a good internet connection, both splitscreen online co-op and splitscreen online competitive are a blast to play.

It's not like it's hard to allow two people to play through the campaign. It would have been simple for them to allow a 2player co-op campaign, where insomniac screwed up is the didn't think about how lame the co-op mode would be with ONLY two people. Least let us play three players on one screen, three classes = three players right? WTF were they thinking. Look, I'll be honest, I'm stoked about the 8 player on-line co-op for myself, but what I enjoyed most about RFoM and other games like Gears is a friend can come over and we can set the game to super-hard, blow through it, and have a great couple nights. What they SHOULD have done is simply allowed two people to play through this great campaign or, if that's somehow impossible to make happen, allow freakin 3 player OFF-line co-op. How hard could that really be? Don't they know people have 60" TV's that can handle this kinda stuff? Guess not. Truth is, I think they just wanted people to buy more PS3's cuz PS is hurting in the console wars.

Exactly, and what about those few that don't have the ability to get on-line. What about those people who live in the middle of Wyoming or something, so they don't get to play co-op at all? If you've played the co-op off-line you'll know that it's pointless playing with just two people. You need ALL three cla$$es, bar-none. Least they could have done if they can't have a 2 Player campaign mode was to allow 3 friends to play co-op on one tv. I have a 60" TV, we'd probably be able to play with four players and still have a good time. All I have to say to conclude this is ridiculousness is, "Great Game Insomniac! but way to eff up my favorite part of RFoM, a two player co-op that's actually fun." Thank god for Gears2, xbox exclusives never let you down.

It's more like no story and completly different game play. Very hard, and you have to level up like an RPG. It's totally meant for 8 people, and I'm sure its fun. But it's not good for 2 player co-op.

If you know someone else with the game, after they dl the update, they can transfer it to a flash drive and you can copy it to your system.

all i am hearing is bawwwing and a conspiracy theory. if you really want to play the same story over and over again with the only difference being another person then you should have read more about the game in the first place. the rest of us will enjoy the fact that a developer put extra time into their game so that we would have massive amounts of replayability and variety. 3 player split screen is basically one of the worst things anyway because of the way it has to be partitioned leaves one person with a decent sized screen and the other people hating life.

My understanding is that you can't save p2 progress. Sucks I know. Whats the point of playing coop if one player always starts back at level 1.
