Resistance 2 online

When I play online I enjoy unlocking the new character models and all of that extra jazz because I'm the type who likes to customize, so I guess my question is do you play ranked or unranked and why? it seems like everynight around 1:00am there are no more ranked rooms up in R2, its all unranked and when i search for a game I get no games found or it keeps searching forever and I go back. But why play unranked? I haven't been in to many uranked matches, but I dont see a difference besides not getting points or the extra gear unlocks and perks. So maybe I'm dead wrong and you still do get extras unlocked on unranked, I feel like I'm not fully playing the game if I'm not working to unlock those extra's, I'm just curious why nobody wants to play ranked.

I have never been in a rank 60 player match so that's where i go 

If I can't get into a ranked competitive match, I'll play co-op. It seems like there are always people playing co-op.babystapler

ya that or i go replay the campaign
