Resistance 2 vs Far cry 2

Resistance 2 and Farcry 2 both look like amazing games. Its just that, I CANT get both of them. First of all, my budget is pretty limited, secondly, I have college and dont want to waste too much of my time on games. So which game do you think would be the better purchase?

Resistance 2 looks great with its 60 player online MP, great graphics and 2 campaigns, and it looks really fun. I also happen to enjoy killing oversized evil humanoid monsters.

Far cry 2 looks unique with its 50km squared world, amazing graphics, total free roam and map editor (I am really hyped about the map editor).

I will probably get both EVENTUALLY, but for the following months. Which game do you think I should go for?

I don't like Resistance, but I am definitely looking foward to Far Cry 2. But to try and help you if you want online more you might want to go with Resistance 2 and if you want single player then go with Far Cry 2. Do you want open world with a pretty atmosphere or a darker atmosphere? Devourment423

Flipped a coin. Far cry 2 came out tails, which means I will be purchasing..........................................................Far cry 2!

I am going for Far cry 2 now but my real decision will be from the review scores.

Since graphics considerations should be put to the side for these two equally venerable powerhouses, I'd say decide based on their distinguishing features:

Resistance 2: Great weapons and enemies, online multiplayer co-op (different from main story and employs a TF2-like job system), huge multiplayer

Far Cry 2: Beautiful environments, very powerful map editor

While I'd say Resistance 2 certainly has more unique features, the map editor should be awesome. Wait for reviews if you're unsure.

I'll eventually get R2 if the player reviews are decent. ( 6.5 or better). I have Farcry2 on order and I'm

really looking forward to this game. Realistic game play in a sandbox. No restrictions on movement, 24 hour time cycle,

weapons degrade, if the game plays like the video clips depict, this will be a really hot selling title! One could make

the argument that it's just another FPS, and this is true. But how many FPS look as realistic as this one and give you the

freedom to proceed as you see fit and in the style you wanna play?

Far Cry 2 is FAr better ...lol.

They are two big games with weaknesses and strengths.

But if I had to choose one it would be Far Cry 2 just for the map editor.

resistance 2 will have so many more amazing moments than farcry, its like every shooter coming out mixed together, even a little left for dead in there with those chimera who behave like zombies. i bet it will beat out farcry. p.s. im buying farcry aswell,

I think he meant multiplayer levels. It has a map editor that lets your vreate your own multiplayer arenas.

I would personally get R2. I never got into the first Far Cry, and I thought R:FoM was awesome. I don't know where people get the idea that it's a generic shooter but everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I'm a huge Halo fan but I had more fun in the R:FoM campaign than all the Halo's combined. And 60 player online....c'mon. Kuruuze

Sequels don't always follow in the first games footsteps.

I agree, I wasn't a big fan of the first Resistance.

As much as I love Resistance: Fall of Man, and even with how excited I am for the sequel, Far Cry 2 is my most anticipated shooter this year.

Originally Resistance 2 was, but studying Far Cry 2 further, learning about the single player, the open world, how day/night and weather can have a huge affect on how you play the game, the map editor, the visuals, and everything else it offers, it's easily my most anticipated shooter this year.

No disrespect to Resistance 2 and what it offers because it will be truly amazing, but Far Cry 2 has my interest peaked more.
