The reviewers are a bit divided.

Nice to see the framerate is as bad as ever. I wonder if they'll fix that before launch, or will this be another vita game hampered by an inconsistent frame-rate.

Which other game PS VITA game do you have that is iconcistent? Wipeout 2048 with its 30 FPS is one of the visually most stunnig games I have ever seen. If Resistance: Burning Skies only has 30 FPS but plays as 2048, I will be more than satisfied, but first I would like to learn som more about the inconcistent games you are talking about..

Looks like the visuals have gotten a bit beter over the past few months. Muzzle flair actually gives off light in dark areas and the framerate looks a little smoother, although still far from great.

Uncharted, wipeout and lumines(to a lesser degree) are some of the games I've played that suffer from noticeable slowdown. You must have low standards if you're satisfied by the 15-20fps in combat races in 2048. Framerate was also bad during online races, but could have been network issues.

Except for 2048 has 30 FPS and not 15-20 FPS in combat races. I did notice a single or two framedrop while playing online, but to say 2048 and Uncharted is inconcistent is something I disagree with, and neither of us knows the FPS of Resistance: Burning Skies.

"Low standards" ? Skyrim?... anyway this is not SW, so lets leave it at that.

Lol, 2048 tops out at 30fps not locked at 30fps. Both games have been criticized for choppy performance from various publications. "Unfortunately, even though Wipeout 2048 is a visually stunning title the gameplay is not as smooth as expected and tends to drop in frame rate if too many vehicles start assaulting one another at the same time.' As for uncharted GA just google it with framerate at the end. "and the framerate drops occasionally" "you'll notice heavy framerate issues in some of ..." "The framerate can also get a bit choppy in some of the latter..." "It does, however, suffer from pop-in and the occasional frame rate drop, ..." You get the idea. Consider yourself lucky if you're unable to tell the difference between 30fps and 20fps, but don't argue that they don't suffer from performance issues. Also, why did you bring up skyrim? 60fps locked for me.

A lot of games slow down some unless they aren't pushing the hardware, I don't' see what the big deal is. I've seen 3ds framerate slow down, not like the grass is any greener

If you want to avoid the drop in fps you should close all other apps, and then play the game with everything else closed.

That fix ALL the fps drops.

The trailer is very similar to Resistance 3. Hopefully Sony advertises this game better.

Lots of examples of games, that suffors from frame drop on every kind of "gaming machine". I might not have an "hawkeye", but it does not make the games inferior, they are playing just fine. We are not talking about a low-end PC that can´t run the games.

Some games can get by with shoddy performance, but I'd argue 2048 is not one of them. Timing your airbrakes to slip into shortcuts can already be somewhat difficult on certain tracks, but those framerate dips completely ruined the game for me. I would have gladly taken a slightly uglier game for 30fps locked.

I have serious doubt about this. 6 hour campaign, not much new, 3 MP modes and 6 levels? I wish the game at least came with a co-op mode either for the campaign or a like the co-op in R2. The story have never been that great in any of the Resistance games and it feels as if all burning skies has going for it is that it's one of the first FPS games on the vita. it feels as an gimped version of the ps3 franchise. Hopefully I'm proven wrong, but I doubt this games is more than a 7/10 game.

I'm mixed cause it has more levels but less modes than resistance on psp. Co-op would be nice but least there is unit 13 for that.

Good review, 3 stars is not bad I still have to try demo, before I decide to buy it. Resistance: Retribution was really good and the character was great, but it will be interesting to see whether you are right about the character in burning skies.

The perfect score that I had predicted.

I feel like a wizard predicting all these gaming related stuff. I should be a CEO. Hurrr hurr. I still think it's worth getting if you're dying for FPS on the go.

SkinnyJeans1995

So that is what the patch was about... I wonder how many patches there will be.?

""The patch will bring the title up to version 1.01 and is 19mbs in size.

Multiplayer connection issues addressed Game Mode now dsplayed at the beginning of each match

The Host has more time to review end-of-match XP updfates in party Games

Directly hitting and killing an enemy with the Hedgehos now credits you for a kill.""

The perfect score that I had predicted.

I have to admit, I expected a general better score.

[QUOTE="SkinnyJeans1995"]

The multiplayer servers were fixed so I added half a star to the review

digimonkey12

So that is what the patch was about... I wonder how many patches there will be.?

""The patch will bring the title up to version 1.01 and is 19mbs in size.

Multiplayer connection issues addressed Game Mode now dsplayed at the beginning of each match

The Host has more time to review end-of-match XP updfates in party Games

Directly hitting and killing an enemy with the Hedgehos now credits you for a kill.""

The perfect score that I had predicted.

I feel like a wizard predicting all these gaming related stuff. I should be a CEO. Hurrr hurr. I still think it's worth getting if you're dying for FPS on the go.

Gaming-Planet

I have to admit, I expected a general better score.

I assume you ended up getting the game?

Not yet. I just downloaded the demo. I like the game, but the graphics bothers me a bit ( and I´m not even a graphic w**** ) It is decent as you say, but sometimes it just feels flat. I´m not a reviewer, so that is the only way I can explain it Lol. I still have to play the demo through though.

I thought you had it because of your mention of the update. Anyways, what's your PSN?
