Resistance: Fall of Man was obviously the game of choice at the launch of the PlayStation 3, but nobody knew exactly how successful it would be. Some feared that the great game would be wasted as a launch title, as sales would be limited to relatively small quantities of owners. This has not turned out to be the case.

In the context of discussing the Manchester Cathedral issue with the media, Sony added that Resistance: Fall of Man has sold over two million copies worldwide.

The folks over at Insomniac must be smiling pretty wide at their first-gen title's sales numbers. Let's hope Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction finds even greater success.

Lol! That was a nice burn. It's always great to see Insomniac games selling lots of copies because they do great games and they've always stood behind Sony.

Alot of people bought Resistance only because there wasn't another good FPS or just because it was there lauch title.

If another well known game like Call of Duty or Rainbow 6 was out at the same time then some people would buy the games they know and have played in the past.

The way it turn out more people gave Resistance a chance and found that Resistance is a great game.

I agree with him. Other than Oblivion, Resistance is the only game worth 60 bucks for the PS3. Don't mention Motorstorm, that game is completely half-assed.

Yeah alot of ppl on these forums dont give Insomniac credit for there games but Insomniac has a great track record for delivering great games. Also they are very close with sony and know a great system when they see one. I mean if Insomniac didnt have faith in the ps3, they could easily be making games for nintendo and xbox 360 aswell so its why I believe the ps3 is a great system and will be bringing out some great games. Oh and that dude deserved it, since he was in the wrong forums anyways bringing his 2 scents, lol.

on topic, good sales is definatly a positive thing, this shows other developers that they can be rewarded for going the extra mile. even if resistance didn`t have much competition it`s definatly positive.

Motorstorm is half assed, I already said that. Its single player is bare bones crap. Almost no options and nothing worth unlocking. No offline multiplayer? LMFAO, are you kidding me? Thats just being lazy, plain and simple.

Sigma isn't out yet. Don't bring up games that aren't out yet. I bought this system, I don't think its going to fail nor do I want it to. I'm just saying that right now, they've put out nothing but crap and mediocre games, which are not worth 60 bucks.

VF5 is decent but you can download Tekken DR for what? 20 bucks? I'll stick with that, thanks.

so underrated, and unappreciated by many. I have never enjoyed a FPS one player mode as much as resistances one player mode. great game!!
