Tough call there... As for graphics that is motorstorm if you have played the demo they look much better then that, its incredible. Gampley i would have to give motorstorm aswell just because it is insanely fun to just drive around and crash into people. The issue with motorstorm is the game has only 8 maps which is a little lacking but the good news is they are releasing new maps and coop mode. Dont get me wrong resistance looks nice and its incredible to have 40 people on the screen without a framerate drop but motorstorm is better for sure. If you want longer lasting appeal maybe go for resistance because the single player is a good length and the online is endless fun!

I have played both and they are equally great. Come on, who doesnt love a good ol' alternate history FPS with 40 people multiplayer games. And with motorstorm, nothing is more enjoyable then watching your car disentagrate after slammin into a canyon wall at high speeds. If i were you id get both. I know illl be an owner of both when i get my PS3

Both of the titles, Resistance and Motorstorm have great gameplay and graphics. Motorstorm is going to offer the best graphics but the game itself is on the short and shallow side. The single player mode is more window dressing and is like a tutorial to get you used to the different types of vehicles and tracks. The real fun of the game comes in the multiplayer where you can run events up to 12 people. The game currently only has 8 tracks but thanks to good design and various paths they don't have to feel the same every time you play them. Resistance is a much longer title, and in my opinion, the more rewarding of the two. The actual campaign pushes about 10 hours of gameplay and offers splitscreen co-op. The online mode is also one of the most robust online modes for an FPS game, even when compared to many PC titles. Here you can have matches up to 40 people across many different maps, modes, and options. You gain experience and ranks as you play online and can even unlock new clothing choices. The graphics are great but they are not Motorstorm quality. Of the two games I heavily side with Resistance but Motorstorm is definitely worth a rental as well and may be chaotically fun enough for you want to pick up as well.

i have both and both are great, i say spend the $120 and get both, i dont even like shooters or aliens but i love resistance, it has a great story and if u dont even wanna get into that u can play online which is fun as hell, motorstorm's one player mode is alright but u will probably get tired of it quickly, now motorstorm online is crazy, every race is different and fun, right now it only has 8 tracks but they are very well designed and have many different routes that u can use

Most of you probably dont even own motorstorm. If your comparing it to the demo than thats just pointless. The actual game is incredible with the best visuals i have seen in a while without a framerate drop. Doesn't even compare with the demo.

what makes you say that? I have been playing it for 3 days now, I agree it has great visuals, but the game is very shallow from a single player standpoint.....

graphics - motorstorm gameplay - arguable, 2 totally different games as for which game is better overall, i would have to go with resistance. if motorstorm had more tracks, SS multiplayer, it would be better in every catagory (IMO).

you clearly haven't played Motorstorm if you think it can even hold a candlestick to Resistance. Maybe when they fix all of Motorsstorms flaws, a meaningful conversation can be made. Until then, Resistance is a big pile of frustration.

It's not fair that you want to compare 2 completely different genres of games. You will not have the same gameplay with two different genres it's almost impossible. They both have amazing gameplay in them therefore they are even. As for the graphics in motorstorm, well I am playing that right now, rented it, and I think the graphics suck. I love the gameplay; it's about as fun as you can get in a racing game. Resistance is about average gameplay for a shooter so I think all in all Motorstorm was a better game. Not by much, but just a smidgeon.

umm, did i say motorstorm was close? the original poster only asked 2 question; which has better gameplay and which has better graphics. gameplay has nothing to do with modes, tracks, content, or replay value, but the gameplay alone. and since they are 2 totally different games, it could go either way which you prefer. graphics, i'd say motorstorm is easily the best looking game out on the ps3 (arguably the best looking game on any system). but because motorstorm lacks content, i said Resistance is better overall. again, did i say just by a hair? no, i just said it was better overall. if motorstorm had more modes and tracks, motorstorm is the better game IMO, meaning in my opinion in case you didn't know. even if motorstorm had all of that, i would rate both games quite close, because they are both great.

Motorstorm is way too hard and frustrating. I can't do better than last place on the second track no matter how many times I try. I should have bought VF5 instead.

don't cry because the game is too hard, you've only had it for a couple of days. Keep playing and you'll get the hang of it playa. Anyway, this game rocks and only gets better the more ya play son

wont choose between these two great games... were the first two i played (bundled with my PS3) and man i enjoyed both... Online is great on Resistance but Motorstorm is not bad either...

I give it a tie :) both are great and looking forward for the upcoming sequels for both games :)

Load times in Mtorostorm are horrendous.

Resistance is the better game, by far. Just too bad you'rte getting into it now when the MP isn't strong.

Resistance is a great shooter. Motorstorm is a great racer. I like Resistance beter though.

lol considering over half the user base in the US got the 80gig bundled with motorstorm i wouldn't doubt that they've played it.

I haven't play resistance but Motorstorm is not my kind of racer. I really dislike most of the vehicles and the soundtrack which only has one song i'd lysten to which is nirvana(if anything else i'd have to turn off the Music). Also the horrible load times, like a minute wait to look at different vehicles. It's an average racer imo.
