Is Resistance still a good series to get into? I know both games got good ratings, but many people have been hating on resistance. Also, a big reason for the games getting such good ratings is the online, which some people say is dead now. Would Resistance (Both one and two) still be good to buy? And would I ever want to play Resistance online if I have a game like MW2?

Resistance: Fall of Man has a better single player and multiplayer. Both are very enjoyable. I'd recommend this title in a heartbeat.

Resistance 2 was lacking something. The single player didn't feel as interesting or inspired. It felt very bland and boring in comparison to Fall of Man, which had better environments, a better story, a weapon wheel, etc.The co-op is the best thing about this game. It's a complete blast. But I don't think the single player or multiplayer stack up to that of the original.

Just my two cents.

Go get em. It's always nice to show support for exclusive games.

Go get em both.

I sold my 60Gb PS3 with my original copies of R1+2 early in 2009,so when i bought my new 80Gb in September i made sure these were top of my re-buy list-They're both great games.

Get the games. R1 is great and R2 is even better with asome boss battles, great 60 player lag-free online and uber good co-op. Highly recommended. Best FPS on the PS3 besides KZ2.

Resistance 1 was great the campaign is awesome i finished on superhuman and multiplayer was decent got to the highest rank in it.

Resistance 2 story was dissapointing but still good just a bit inconsistant. The multiplayer is awesome in 2 a lot better then 1 not sure if youd play it over MW2 but i play it over COD4 & Killzone 2 its awesome fun and looks mint!

Both worth picking up for sure 1 for the story 2 for online (especially team deathmatch)!

Get RFROM if you want to do some offline co-op. Very few options for good PS3 exclusives that have this. Only LBP really is another worth while exclusive game that has offline co-op for the PS3. R2 online is still active so not sure what the other poster was talking about. I'm sure the community isn't huge but it is still easy to get into a game. I atually preferred the R2 story and gameplay better than RFOM but I liked playing offline co-op in the campaign in the first one.

It's probably the only modern FPS franchise I enjoy.

I played them both and I thought they seemed like very average FPSes actually. There are better games you can play out now.

Dude its way too late into Resistance 1's life to really enjoy it now. Everything about it is outdated. The graphics, AI, animations. Try the demo first. Resistance 2? Maybe not.

Nope. The story is to poorly delivered and the games mechanics are yawn inducingly generic.

I played Resistance 1 and didn't like it very much :( the multiplayer is fun though and you still find people :P. So I'd say rent it or something and see if you like it.

I would rent Resistance 2 and buy Resistance Fall of Man... In Resistance Fall of Man they had this girl named Parker narrating the story and Resistance 2 had no narration.. that fact right there made me love Resistance FoM and not like R2.. i know it sounds silly but its true.

never was ANY good in my opinion......the first one was boring and shallow beyond measure and the little bit that made 1 good they took out in R2. and instead gave Hale more speech and bigger chimera
