Is it just me, or are the checkpoints really, really spaced? It makes some of the battles really tedious to do over and over again. This game feels a bit too hard because of that reason.

It spaces out pretty well in the beginning, but as you progress it gets worse. It's still playable, but it's a little frustrating on some parts.

How does everyone play this game? Run and gun, or be a bit more careful? I seem to be really bad at it, and I could use some tips.

In tight spaces with a lot of chimera I just run and gun and maybe throw a hedgehog or two. But for open spaced areas with chimera that are spread apart I'm more careful by using cover, sniping, ect. The only thing that would really give you a lot of trouble is a pack of those damn steel heads chasing you

I think the checkpoints are spaced out pretty well but remember to ALWAYS use cover unless you have to deal with those stinkin steelheads. Hope that sorta helps

Yeah exactly. It's like... the checkpoints seem so far out of reach when you're playing superhuman... even though they're all in the same spot as say, easy.

tehy get farther apart so that it gets harder. and it does. but the only one that ever botehred me was teh one in teh subway where you start out in a corner with 15 chimera firing on you. you beat that then 4 otehr rooms then they finally finish it off with a 2 sided attack in an open hallway. no escape. and no checkpoint after that either, not for anotehr fight. tehn you finally get one. teh rest fo the game was usually ok.

I don't think the checkpoints are too far apart. You just have to remember in resistance, guns blazing past the first few levels pretty much=you dead. After the first level, health bars [each quarter individually] heal up if you stay behind cover for 5 or so seconds. The best way to survive in resistance is to shoot a little, then take cover before you lose one of the bars and shoot more when it heals. You won't always be able to save every one of your health bars, but listening to this advice will help save your life. Also, take advantage of the L23 Fareye sniper rifle. If you pick off a few enemies before entering an area, you have a few less enemies shooting at you, which definitely helps. :)

It was challenging but it wasn't really that hard. There were some levels that got difficult but it was always pretty doable.

Some are some arent. I think that its in Somerset that they start to space out a LOT. I mean, the gorge level has like the longest checkpoint.

By the way, you have to mix. If you are in coop, you can run and gun, but in single, its better to play it safe. You are alone, and Chimeras are really tough. I mean, I just started the game a week ago, great game btw, but when alone, its tough to survive sometimes specially against Steelheads with the Auger. Most of the other enemies are easy to defeat, just cover and fire, and when in a tight spot, Tag (Bullseye), hide and fire to the sky lol.

Now, for closed enviroments, nothing comes better than a Hedgehog or an Air-fuel grenade. Seeing a Chimera burn = Sweet, now seeing 5 Chimeras burn (skill reward) = Priceless :D

I love FPS but unfortunately not the greatest gamer, saying this I found RFOM checkpoint spaced out quite nicely. Am up to the last level but find myself wandering to Online mode all the time. So much fun!!!
