OK, I am admitedly new to PS3, new to Resistance, and even new to First Person Shooters. The problem that I am having is that when I go online and play, I just get wasted every time. I know that some players are more skilled than others, but why am I losing so bad? It seems like I can sneak up on a dude from behind, unload on his head with tons of hits, and he can turn around and shoot me a couple of times and I die. What can I do to get better, because I want to win at least one game?

Play the story in the game first, beat it. Do that before you attempt to get online. As for unloading on the back of a head. I dont think youre hitting their head exactly. Because it does matter where you shoot people. If you shoot them in the foot itll take forever for them to die. Square in the head, 1 maybe 2 shots.

Plus it also depends on what type of gun you are using.

Practice.

As someone who has played alot of this game i cant actually offer u much advice because this whole game, especially the online experience is more of a gradual in skills. The advice most people will give u are the same of any other shooting game, aim at the head and contineously reload ur weapon so u can be ready at anytime. I think the most important part of thi sgame is getting ur weapons right, you cant depend on one weapon ever. so test around with all weapons and you'll understand what i mean. And oh, master those gernades, they help a lot.

That's pretty much all i can tell you.

Hope it helps

You guys are telling me what I expected, but what about those people who seem to have combat maneuvers at their disposal that I would have thought were specific to trained military personel. Is that something that I will just pick up with more practice too?

If you're sneaking up on them at close range why not use the shotty instead? More fun too.

I don't know what you really mean, but the more you play the more you will learn, and with that knowledge you will be able to anticipate what people are going to do, making it easier to kill people. By the way, to be decent at FPShooters, you need to beable to move and aim accurately at the same time. Most newbies cannot do this and, as a result, get killed very easily. So, just work on your movement & aim first.
